Can anyone help me. I would love to add a hood scoop to my truck. Is it easier to just buy a whole new hood? Or add one on. I haven't found the scoop that i want online, its the one that comes with the TRD. Its molded in the hood. Any help will do thanks.

The bump is part of the hood, and you need the insert piece as well. All the aftermarket ones look like junk. you can get an aftermarket hood, for about 150, the scoop for 150, and another 1-300 for paint. The hood from the delaer is anbout 300 if you go that route.

You mean you like the sport hood. You will have little luck getting anyone here to swap their sport hoods. Better luck getting a Certifit sport hood and painting it to match. And to answer your next question, there is no way to make it functional to add HP.

I'm surprised the hoods are so inexpensive- crazy how the insert is as much as the hood.

I went with the OEM hood because i wanted to make sure the fit and everything was perfect. Definitely worth the money to go that route if you can! :)

what oz said. I'd trade you for a perfect condition silver. Only reason I haven't is because I'm on the fence and know the condition and color match of my hood are great.

Not a problem.. put up an ad, had to take it down by noon, too many replies. Just you know, year to year, the paint might be different, fades, they've applied something to the hood that'll make the paint fail in a year .. who knows.

Enough so's I don't feel quite comfortable enough to swap hoods just for the look.

Craigs-list it. Won't probably be quite as easy the other way round, but bound to be some people out there like me in your area. I try not to buy vehicles based on looks, but after a while things like a hood you don't like can start creeping.

I used to think it was cool, before I owned one.. same reason I don't get tattoos.. well that and hepititis;)
