Thanks! That makes sense. So, you’re stock height at the moment? I sent Wescott a message and he sent the video of the 22 Pro they lifted. Looks good, but too much wheel poke for me, also. Looks like with their lift the truck sits at 24” on all corners. Wonder how the cv axles are looking at that height?

Just cuz I think it looks cool. I suppose it protects the roof paint. It's a matte wrap, no texture that's just rain.

Yes, I am totally stock on the suspension. The only lift I have is from the tires. Personally I didn’t want any wheel poke, but I can honest say that these Bora .75” adapters make the stance look nice and it’s not overdone; of course that’s just one person’s opinion. I think 1.25” is the standard since they are easy to find in both good and bad quality products, but just a little too much for me.
I also share you concern about CV joints etc. when these lifts are added without considering all elements of the suspension. From what I have read, if I decided to do something like that without completely remodeling the Fox TRD suspension, I would probably go with the Westcott route. There are some really good threads somewhere on TW about the Westcott design and why it has some thoughtful ways to get lifting done without compromising everything else, but I am too lazy to go and find them and post them here…..but they’re out there on the interwebs.

I’m lazy too… I haven’t seen those threads. I would like to see them…. But lazy wins.

Are the Westcott lift parts not adding spacers?

I think they probably are spacers when it comes down to it, but I seem to remember some engineering that they do that doesn’t max out the coils, shocks, ruin the bump stop etc. I’ll get motivated and see if I can get you all some info.

Here’s a Westcott install video that is somewhat long. Around 8:50 they install the Westcott collar (spacer) on the strut at the bottom of the coil. I am no suspension expert, but from what I have heard and read, this is perhaps better than just adding a plate or spacer at the top of the strut without bringing compression of the coil into the equation. This design readjusts the preload of the coil with the additional thickness of the Westcott collar; a better alternative in some people’s eyes that just adding a spacer at the top of the strut to gain additional lift. My understanding is that this design is better since it still allows the shock/strut to function as it was originally intended rather than just adding a piece of metal to raise the entire apparatus up by ~2-3 inches.

I also may be totally full of shit on my understanding of this and my use of terminology, so feel free to correct my misstatements and ignorance.

Thanks! I’ve seen that video before when I was looking into lifts. I don’t know much about suspension blocks and why they are really bad. But even with the collets being changed out, they’d fill use blocks from what I can tell. I don’t know the subtle differences between straight blocks and then this.

the only two things I have heard bad about the westcott designs lift is that they use blocks and they aren’t higher end lift, and I only see that criticism on TW. I think I have to go do some more reading about preload and what that does to the shock. I think that is what makes the difference.

I've ordered the Westcott collars for my TRD Pro and I can post more about it once I get it installed (4-6 week wait time for shipping). I opted to go with the Headstrong AAL for the rear lift instead of the block lift. The 2022 already has a 1/2" block in the rear from the factory. I'm also going to do the ECGS bushing while I'm in there.

Gotcha. I’m going to pick up some .75” Bora adapters because I think these trucks look great with 285s.
I actually had a 2018 Pro and now a 2015 Pro that I put the Wescott lift on. Ride wasn’t compromised and it’s a nice product. I was confused with the 22 Pro because Toyota claims it’s higher than previous Pro years and I thought it might be too much now. According to Wescott, it’s only higher in the back, so we’ll see…

Did you get the black anodized or raw aluminum? Raw looks like a shorter wait time.

Yea, I ordered the black despite the extra wait.

Bora also makes 1” spacers for those who want something in between. I actually ordered both .75” and 1” from them just in case the .75” ones didn’t quite work. I never opened the 1” ones though after I got the .75” on.

Called another dealership. They said it was 5k over MSRP, had to trade in a vehicle, and had to use their financing. I'm wondering if they are legally allowed to do that.

I am experiencing the same thing (I have called a total of 64 dealerships). It is highway robbery and I am insanely pissed. Even though I can afford it I refuse to let them gouge me. Not only do they screw ya on the adjustment overage....but they make another $1000 over the course of your loan by giving you a rate worse than you deserve. In the case of a trade in, they would take ya on that as well. I'm sick of it.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if we weren't already living with a bunch of idiots who will take those deals and keep doing business with these assholes. I will never buy a vehicle from any of these places.. but I'm well aware I'm pissing in the ocean.

I don't know if it is legal. But from the what I am reading and hearing is that lots of dealerships are doing it. They get more money doing it that way.
