I think it was a Silverado, but it was night time and the interior lit up like the 4th of July when the crook stuck his head in.

I've seen porch pirates fooled in a similar fashion, via decoy Amazon packages filled with flashbangs...

Also, did anybody hear about the environmental extremists going around deflating tires on SUVs and pickups to encourage their owners to take the bus? Sounds like a good away to get a ass-kicking if you ask me...

I'm in the sticks & the only buses anywhere near are school buses.

"Environmental extremists" That's some spin. They're vandals & they deserve any retribution they get. Don't expect justice though as long as the rights.of criminals take precedence.over those of victims.

One time years ago (probably 2013 or 2014) I was in Doylestown taking pictures with my SLR; There was an older Subaru wagon parked in a metered space on Main Street. This scruffy-looking guy with a backup was looking through the window of this Subaru like he was casing it for valuables. The would-be burglar was a white guy, probably in his early 20s, and he gave off a heroin addict vibe; He looked up, saw I was standing there staring at him, and took off like a bat out of hell. I didn't even have to say a single world; Again, this was in very affluent borough of Doylestown, in broad daylight. Whoever owned that Subaru probably left something expensive sitting in the center console, and the doper wanted to appropriate it for the purpose of selling it to fund his habit. I kid you not, this guy saw me, got that "deer in the headlights" look, and just took off!

I worked at a bar for four years; On Thanksgiving Eve in 2016, we were slammed as expected, and our ice machines couldn't keep up. I was sent in my truck to buy more more ice. I made the mistake of driving down the alley in front of the bar, which was clogged with drunk college students. This one clueless group was standing in the middle of the alley, just standing there and not moving, so I beeped the horn. I had my foot on the brake but the truck was moving forward ever so slightly; In his infinite wisdom, he decided to run directly towards my moving truck and beat on the hood with the palms of his hands. I wanted to murder the guy; I actually threw the truck in park, got out, and was ready to bounce his head against the nearest brick wall a few times. I obviously decided against this, because it would mean going to jail and losing my job in the same night as there were dozens of witnesses and it was on my employer's property. I gave him a look of pure homicidal rage, pointed directly at him, and bellowed "DON'T TOUCH MY FUCKING TRUCK!" He was with two of his buddies, so that was another reason I resisted the urge to deck him...

They stumbled off, and a few feet away seconds later, another drunk college age moron walked up to the back of my truck and grabbed a bag of ice out of the bed. I did not see this happen, but one of the bouncers did, as did my rear-facing camera; I did not see the bouncer tap on my front fender to get me to stop, but my front dashcam caught this. It played out like this...

    • Drunk college student grabs bag of ice from bed of my truck and starts tossing it up and down before his equally drunk friends...
    • Head bouncer sees this happen and tells him to put the ice back...
    • Somehow thinking that ditching the bag of ice would get our bouncer to leave him alone, he throws the bag of ice with all of his might...

What ended up happening is that I had driven a few feet, and this shithead threw the bag as hard as he could in attempt to get it back in the bed of my truck; He overshot the bed and the bag of ice slammed into the back of the cab before flying over the roof and landing on the pavement in front of the truck. All I heard was a loud thud and bunch of wiseassed "OHs" from the crowd, and thought someone had thrown a beer bottle at my truck. Startled, I slammed on the brakes and looked behind me just as the bag flew over the truck; My dashcam caught this.

There was no damage to the truck, and I didn't know who actually threw the ice until I reviewed the dashcam footage later that night. I was thouroughly chewed out by both my boss and the bouncer for decided to drive down the alley, and I never did it again! Seriously though, kids have gotten less and less respectful of other peoples' property!

Those idiots used to light new SUV's and old tires on fire, or burn down partially built houses. Really great for the environment, lol.

    Hell, it isn't even kids...

@Taco critter has heard this story and been in the same boat; I was at a cruise night at Double Eagle Golf in Morrisville in probably the summer of 2018, and it was hot as hell. I had shined up my truck real nice and parked it on the field. An older guy in some sort of kit car parked next to me on the passenger side of my truck, and while I was registering, he set up his folding lawn chair on the driver's side of my truck. His vehicle (I forget what it was; Some sort of Lotus replica, maybe?) didn't offer much in the way of shade, so he just made himself at home on the other side of my truck to get out of the sun. I was initially quite calm, but started to get irate when the guy didn't seem to understand why he couldn't set up camp there. I told him that this was my truck and he couldn't block access to my driver's door; Luckily he got the message before I got to "I don't really give a shit if you forgot your umbrella" and reported his behavior to the people running to the show, and moved before I got really angry.

Sometime in 2020 or 2021, I was at a cruise night held in the parking lot of a shopping center in Huntingdon Valley; I know it was at least 2020 because I had my dog Porter with me. I came back to my truck to put something back in it and found some old guy leaning agaisnt the left rear fender of my truck like he owned it! I kept my cool but made no attempt to hide the fact that I was pissed; I glared at him and said "Dude, could you like not lean on my truck?!?!" He did as he was told without incident, but seriously!

    :annoyed:

Remember I told you about that prick at the cruise night a few years ago who decided to use my truck as shelter from the sun?

Lot of jokers out there who'll walk over you if you let them. It's not a recent phenomenon; I've had similar incidents before you were on the planet. Alcohol never helps matters. Need to walk a fine line when dealing with these pricks. Justifiable anger can boomerang and bite you on the azz. It's not easy.

There wasn't any alcohol involved in either car show incident.

Man, I get homeless people sitting on my front stairs, I don't even have a porch, it's sidewalk-3 stairs-my front door.
The front door has a tiny window mounted high so i can't see if someone is sitting on my stairs when the front door is shut.

I'll try to take my (65lbs agressive) dog out in the middle of the night and he'll end up trying to grab these fools by the back of the scalp.
I never let him touch anyone but these homeless bums paint me as the bad guy lol

Cops said I can't really do much other than tell them to gtfo every time. It's really annoying. People are such entitled cunts.

That happens quite a bit in Doylestown, but it tends to be drunk people rather than the homeless; My friend's late mother came outside one morning and found a guy passed out in her porch swing. They did have a covered front porch, and this guy seemed dumbfounded as to why he couldn't sleep it off in a stranger's porch swing, but she made him leave.

Referring to the drunk punks tossing ice in the alley. Re the car shows you don't necessarily know what someone might be on.

My friend and former boss is married to this guy who used to have a grumpy old Beagle mix named Murphy, who had to be euthanized earlier this year because he was 14 and having seizures, among other things. Murphy wasn't aggressive or vicious, but either he liked you or he didn't. My boss was the manager of the bar where I worked at the time and her then-boyfriend (now husband) was a high school gym teacher by day and a bartender by night at another bar. They were busy on weekends, so I got paid to take both dogs out when they couldn't. I was one of the few people Murphy decided he liked, so I got stuck taking him out because I waqs one of the few people who could actually get near him to attach a leash. My boss's dog Tully, who is still alive and now almost 10, doesn't like other dogs at all but loves people; Tully was perfectly fine to take on walks, but Murphy would bark at everybody. Walking him was no fun, and one time this guy who clearly had mental issues was triggered by the fact that Murphy decided to bark at him one evening.

This guy, who I believe was a resident of one of the local group homes, was hanging out on the front steps of a law office directly across from the old courthouse (Doylestown is the county seat of Bucks County, and there are law offices everywhere) smoking a cigarette. Murphy started barking at him purely out of habit, and he started bitching at me. As stated above, this guy clearly had mental issues; I told him to calm down, and in his infinite wisdom he thought I was talking to Murphy. He responded by saying "Dogs can't understand fucking English!" I looked at him and said "I was talking to you, asshole." This really triggered him, and he started cussing and screaming, but he was overweight and I was halfway down the street before he got up. I've only seen the guy once, but I told a coworker and he knew exactly who I was talking about. The #55 SEPTA bus goes directly from Philly into Doylestown, and back again, and riding it to the end of the line is not particularly expensive. The chubby cigarette smoker was a local, but all sorts of interesting people ride the bus to Doylestown from the city; Most of them cause no problems (and a few of them actually have jobs in the area), but others panhandle and seemingly go out of their way to annoy locals.
