    I'm way off anyway. I was referring to a URD 02 sensor that kills the check engine light that is caused by the long tube headers.

    I have DT headers on the brain and saw URD

    that is correct. I think torco is the same as boostane.

    I wish I understood this shit better.

    Their mix charts make them look quite different. At least for the one Tim linked, it takes a 32 oz bottle, with a 20 gal fillup, to raise the octane 4 points.

    I can see that and don't' like tuning a piggy back with the stock ECU that like to stick to it's programing. It's been a minute since I've looked at what the timing is a WOT but I think it's in the 13.5-14.5 range. I'd swap to the haltec if my harness wasn't already modified a ton from a URD and now AEM install. I have a spare motor and harness I may swap to with the haltec down the road.

    Best place to start if you're working with Haltech is at the source. I unfortunately/fortunately got my initial learning on NISTUNE... so while I know a lot of the terms, groundwork and basics... it hasn't translated as easy to the Haltech ESP as I'd hoped. Thankfully @Digiratus' truck is keeping me busy and encouraging me to keep learning. Haltech makes it easy to remote tune which is nice too.

    That playlist has tons of awesome info in it, and some less useful videos too. I like to learn the why's and how-tos of physical setup from a variety of places. PFI Speed's channel is useful as is KSR Performance's, you wanna learn way too much then Jafromobile is a good channel. Thing is there are so many terms to define the parts of how EFI works you have to either dive into your own project or learn from a ton of others on it. I've been thankful to get to help out tuning on lots of different projects over the years. They're different platforms but the terms and parts are the same so I get tons out of the MegaSquirt/Speeduino/Speedy EFI (no relation although I live next to headquarters :D) help files and videos.

    This guy does MegaSquirt but since he's using Speed Density tuning I reference his stuff all the time

    Also Haltech phone and e-mail support is excellent and they're super knowledgeable. Plus you can just send them a config or a map file and they can usually figure out any hiccups you're encountering and then tell you how to avoid them.

    Wow, that's quite the list. So many in fact, it is a bit intimidating.

    I think I'll start checking these out based on the info in the title of the video, i.e., ones that start with "how to" seem promising. How Cold Start Tuning Works, Boost Control: How to Map Your Boost Against Gear and How Self Tuning Works: Short Term and Long Term Trim.

    I'm sure my head will be spinning in no time...

    You can skip the boost control ones cause your SC has no provisions for that.

    Nothing tunes quite like a carburetor... wrong at cold start, wrong at idle, wrong at part throttle, slow throttle response... but man can you really dial in wide open haha

    I once rebuilt a carburetor from a '75 Luv pickup, on the kitchen table. Only had a couple of parts left over when done. :anonymous: It ran better than when I started.

    I watched the one on cold starts. A lot of info to take in and correlate to our application. For example, in their terms, I realized I have no reference regarding how far the fuel injector is from the intake valve on the 3.4L. It's not port injection is it?

    ahh I looked it up way different than boostane and barely cheaper. I am very happy with boostane. a little goes a long way. when I can't run that I will run a 1/2 oz of cleanboost max concentrate per tank. It works good for such a small amount to stop the engine from pinging.I only buy the small bottle because it will go bad if you don't use it quickly
