yo.....yes I searched this forum all over and it seems most have newer Tacomas....oh well whatever....wish I could .....but I'm ok with mine being paid for......anyone here know what fuse in my fuse box takes the add a fuse

When you ran your Raptor lights....what fuse did you go into and use.....I cannot find out what fuse is the running light fuse.....right now I'm with the add a fuse into the EFI...so at least when Tacoma is running the running lights are on.....am I good that way?...Id like to know what fuse the running lights or without having to go through firewall into my fuse box inside the cab ok thanks

I also heard some guys spliced inot their running lights.....guess so.....but want to know 2nd gen best fuse under the hood and not inside the cab

There's not really any good options for switched ignition power in the engine bay fuse box.
There is no "running light" fuse, there's a Tail fuse but it's in the interior fuse box and the EFI circuit is turned on for the EVAP test that runs 3-5 hrs after the truck is turned off.
If you have the V6 there's an ignition wire in the engine bay fuse box that you could use if your careful about it.

....I guess then I can splice into the running lights....ok thank you for your expertise

That's the wire I was going to suggest if the OP had the V6, it is powered by the IG1 No2 Fuse 10A in the interior fuse box.
I would suggest using a fuse no larger than 3 amp on your tap if you go the route of using that wire.

This thread came up at the right time for me. I have some raptor lights (and a pro grille) on the way.

Is there a good reason not to just tap the battery, and add a switch in the cab?

Not really tho. It's a dumb mod you never see and has zero purpose. It looks absolutely stupid.

Ended up plugging the add-a-fuse into the tail/corner light slot, in the cab fuse panel. Push the attached wire out from the cab, not into it, before connecting it to the lights.
Only reason I didn't go the other route was not wanting to buy and add a switch. A fuse, and voltage regulator are still recommended if you go the switch route.

Splice them into your running lights..that way when you flick your headlight switch over just one time, they come on, and flick it over one more they’ll be on when your headlights are on. They’ll be off when your headlights are off. Simple as that.
