I sure you can break an anvil with a plastic hammer, I'm also sure you would have to try really hard to do it.

I know we're learning something here and it's relevant to OPs crime scene.

I could not connect those adapters to the Fumoto so I'll just be pinching the hose onto the nipple.

EDIT: I must of been non-mechanical at the time...I just tried it and it snapped into place.

They do -- and they make it look easy.
The explanation is always the same too: "...it just broke..."

That oil looks very black to me. Anyone else think so?

Great to hear and now you can realize the white plastic adapter works the same regardless of the nipple length. Makes installing the tube SO MUCH EASIER.

    Oh geeze,

How did used oil get back into the engine if that is the case? I hope there are more pics that shows relevance if this is the case.

It doesn't look like new oil to me. Just saying.

It was likely the last oil out of the engine. Probably got a bit burnt on the way out?

I think OP should show up personally at the dealer this week to show some interest and let them see him driving around the loaner. I think he needs to show some concern, and that's best done face to face in a situation like this I believe.

I am humbled to have such shenanigans attached forever more to my user name. My user name was chosen to honor a long deceased eccentric distant relative who would have gotten a kick out of this. Long live Ranny Hill!

Sorry to hear this happened, OP.

I'm very particular about how others treat my things. I haven't allowed anyone to work on any of my vehicles in over 3 years. I had a transmission rebuild that went, well -- never built, plus thousands of $$$ of interior damage to my wife's Grand Cherokee Overland caused by some animal, literally. Long story short, I'm not experienced with transmission rebuilds so I had it towed to a very reputable, small transmission shop known for building heavy duty towing/racing transmissions. Our Jeep broke down, and lost all forward gears while on a family trip, 10 hours from home. So I had it towed to this shop from states away. Unfortunately, the shop had been recently sold and kept the original owner's actual last name for the business name. But unbeknownst to me, it was run by total morons. I didn't learn this until the damage was done when we got back in town. They had broken the bellhousing, stripped some bolts into the HEMI block, cut the exhaust off, and only replaced the torque converter with a remanned unit. Plus, the leather interior was chewed up after they left it in their lot with the windows down.

For the money and downtime I got screwed out of, I could've rebuilt it myself 10 times and surely gotten it right eventually.

Anyways, sucks when these things happen. And it sucks that some thrive on the misfortune of others. I'd be slow to lawyer up. Negotiate the solution in writing, or at least request all of the dealer's offers in writing. Personally, I'd probably try to negotiate a trade. I think it's a good thing your dealing with a large establishment you have a history with, rather than a mom and pop shop barely holding an LLC.

What the Dealer might do if they take possession is beyond this guy's control....Maybe they'll give it to a group of Nuns?!

I don’t mind. That poster got a little emotional and was projecting but honestly this will come down to simple math for the dealership.

Damage WAS done if the truck was run without oil. They may try to offer an extended warranty if it seems okay after cleaning up the mess - but should the OP have to live with tainted goods after just spending 30-40k on a truck due to dealership negligence? I say no.

I'm willing to bet there is one less service tech at that dealership this week. Another job opening for someone.
