I reeeeeally hope there isn’t a next time for my axles. I don’t wheel my rig anymore, just daily drive it, but never say never I suppose. I used the Napa 1258 heavy duty axles, new ones, and they’re really beefy. So far I’m impressed with them.

I rarely wheel anymore either. But this is/was my main hobby for a long time, so it will continue to be. If you need help with maintenance I can help too. I have most tools, and a fairly lenient HOA (Im about to reweld my sliders, and I dont think Ill have any issues)

Same! Before I got married/had kids, wheeling, camping, road tripping was the way of life. But that has come to a halt, haha.
But thank you man. That’s really kind of you to offer. Only thing I have left to do is front rotors, pads, and brake fluid flush. So I might just have to take you up on your offer!

10-4. I need to figure out what they're worth with 35k miles on them. I do know they can be rebuilt when the time comes.

That was quick, someone got a good deal.

At the risk of showing my ignorance and throwing salt in the wound, how could they justify that amount just for labor? I mean that's almost a full day of labor. I can't wrap my mind around that.

Agreed. It really pissed me off when, once the truck was on the lift with the tires off, I was called into the bay with the store manager. He goes “so I really apologize but you were misquoted over the phone” and proceeds to show me the computerized show of how many labor hours it requires to cover both axles. Computer said 6 hours, at the rate of $151/hr for labor.

either way, 2/5, wouldn’t recommend. They did do the job correctly, and the truck rides great, but that’s all the credit I will give them

I have a garage at my house you're more than welcome to use. I'm not in NoVa so it's a little bit of a hike, but it would be worth the drive to avoid another bill like that one.

That's a horrible idea. What time?

What may have helped you is telling them to put the wheels back on and get it off the lift saying you weren't prepared to pay that much for their mistake. Two things happen, they give you the truck or they cut you a deal. As long as the vehcile is safe to drive, they have no legal reason to keep it and will sometimes make a deal to keep the sale. I used to put up with stuff like that, but I worked too hard to provide good customer service to put up with poor customer service, or lack of customer service anymore. As a customer holding the money, you hold more power than the service provider wants you to have.
