I was wondering if these would plug right into my wires or my plug ins in my dash or will I have to cut and splice??? I can’t live with this sound system anymore. I can’t hear the instruments in the music is the best way to describe it.

If you have the non jbl headunit, they are plug and play.

I just ordered mine off Amazon today. I couldn’t hear the instruments so to speak like the symbols etc. I had to do something and I thought this would be a good start. I sure hope so. I just couldn’t imagine just by changing the tweeters that it will improve it that much but everyone says it does.

The good question that I can't figure out is if:
    1. These 6x9 kickers, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NSC87RF are still plug and play for a 2022 non-premium/non-jbl headunit?
    2. And these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NS93RV8 are still plug and play for a 2022 non-premium/non-jbl headunit?
All mentioned in that massive thread https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/premium-audio-upgrade-for-less-than-250.510424/

There are so many pages of people saying different things I can't find a definitive answer. Do you have any idea @MGMDesertTaco ?

The way I am understanding it is the Suburu Tweeters that goes in your Dash are drop in plug and play now for the door speakers I have no idea about that. I don’t think you can use the connectors that r plugged into the factory speakers but I don’t honestly know. I’m sure the Suburu Tweeters are tho

I wish I had the extra money I’d just go ahead and get the OEM Audio plus but there are other things I am needing like a Eaton TrueTrac Diff and ARB Brush&Grill guard plus winch. Wheels and Tires Suspension. Lol it’s endless

Thanks a bunch. I just might end up going this route if I can’t afford the OEM Audio package. I’m just hoping if I do go that route it will match up and sound good. I had thought about infinity speakers for the front doors

These will fit in the dash corners plug and play, bolt right in.

For door speakers you'll need metra speaker brackets 6x9 and 6 3/4 as well as metra wiring harnesses to make them plug and play.
I'd recommend buying from Crutchfield as these are included with whatever speakers you buy. You can start with the link below to see what fits your 2022 Tacoma...

Surpringly, the factory front door speakers put out a decent bass but I switched them out for the 6x9 infinity reference. The sound is so much better; clean and clear. It is paired with the subaru/kicker tweeters. People say you need an amp to fully appreciate the speakers, but I'm happy without the amp.

For the front 6 x 9 speakers you will need Metra 82-8146 mounting brackets and Metra 72-8104 wiring harnesses.
For the rear 6-3/4 speakers you will need Metra 82-8148 mounting brackets and Metra 72-8109 wiring harnesses.
    All per Crutchfield.....
Don't bother upgrading the rear speakers unless you add an amp or a DSP. The factory head unit sends almost no power to them so you can't hear them anyway. You can verify this yourself. Set your stereo to a comfortable listening volume, then use the fader control to shift all the sound to the rear speakers.

This would be great if I can get by without buying a amp and rear door Speakers

Just keep in mind, if you get the 6x9s mentioned above, and the drop-in Kicker tweeters, you’ll have 4 tweeters up front. That tends to get VERY “shouty” and hard to listen to at volume.

If you have Tweeters in the Dash, wouldn’t you want just like a Woofer 6x9 ??????

Yes, you would want to go with a component speaker for the front doors if you are using the tweeters in the dash.

2-way and 3-way coaxial speakers have integrated tweeters if you don't have tweeters already in your vehicle.
