With the Weather getting good, anyone have any favorite campsites? I've been doing Shendoah every year and looking to shake it up.

I'm going to posting both the RTT and Batwing awning for sale by the weekend. PM me if you're interested. Going to a ground tent with the addition of the dog to the family.

I appreciate the info, and will use it moving forward. Of course hindsight is 20/20, and I certainly wish I would have acted upon it. Again, this is the third time I’ve ever taken my truck in for work to be done, first being a U-joint and second being a muffler job. So hopefully this won’t be a consistent trend of taking the truck into the shop to have work done. Either way, thank you again for the input

Maybe try avoiding the chains or the franchise stores. Independent shops have more freedom to maneuver than those with franchise or corporate structures do. But do your homework, make sure they have a good rep. Lot's of cars in the shop can be a good indicator.

Definitely need to get down there. I'd be down to camp overnight sometime as long as it's not stupidly hot at night!

The top of the mountain is generally pretty cool and windy, at least relatively speaking. I'm not sure what you classify as stupidly hot.

Wind is good. Sleeping in a tent in 80 degrees in stagnant heat is what I'd like to avoid.

For sure. I’m not from Nova, only been here a few years. I drove by it and saw from the outside that it looked decent, not sketchy, like a lot of places in that area are. Also got a good impression with the rep over the phone, but clearly that didn't stand to be true. If the dealership wasn't double what I paid, I would've just taken it there, at least I know i can trust them for certain. I was uneasy with the whole situation as it was

Agreed, that's why I always have a fan in the tent. When I had a ground tent I used my dewalt fan (which moves some serious air) and now in my rtt I used a stroller fan wrapped around one of the poles. Moving air is always nice.

Yeah. I have one of those that hangs from the ceiling of the tent. It only helps up to a certain temp.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that unless you have enough history with a particular dealer to come to that conclusion. Not all dealers are the same, and some are better than others. I can appreciate your dilemma not being from the area and not knowing who to trust. This thread is a good source of local knowledge for that sort of stuff. At any rate, glad you're back on the road.

might take you up on this.. Picking up some new to me leafs tomorrow, and my driveway is slightly sloped, so its kind of sketchy getting the rear up enough to take the leafs off.

Yeah man, you have my number so just text me when you want to come over. I'll be gone this weekend but in general I should be around after that. Could also do it during the week if you're still working nights.
