M&P triggers are trash. My Shield 2.0 feels like I dropped it on the beach and didn't clean it. Glocks aren't miles better though.

Trigger is the first thing I replace on my Glocks. Haven’t even picked up my G17 from FFL yet and I’ve already got an order in with ZEV.

Ya m&p triggers do tend to be gritty, but the take-up on this glock is long, heavy and unpleasant. I own 2 m&ps, my dad owns 3 and my brother owns one. The only one with an upgrade kit is my shield. We all agreed the the m&p is better than this thing. I though maybe my trigger was particularly bad but even with the apex kit the stock m&ps are still better

Maybe try replacing the trigger and striker springs? Polish the internals? I'm just surprised you're having such an issue. Apex is normally regarded as a quality brand, although I don't have any experience with their Glock triggers.

All the trigger parts are quality and I'm not knocking apex. The problem is the design of the trigger mechanism. In a m&p the striker is cocked when the slide closes and all the trigger does is drop the sear. In the glock the striker is cocked by pulling the trigger which pushes the striker back with the sear and at the end of the trigger pull the sear drops down to release the striker. The trigger is fighting the weight of the striker spring and needs a long enough pull to fully cock the striker. The m&p trigger just does less and has to fight way less spring force. Not really alot the apex kit can do to solve that.

Idk man. I’ve never found my aftermarket Glock triggers to have excessive travel or weight. Quite the opposite in fact. They’re nice and light with a crisp break/reset, but like I said I can’t speak for Apex personally, but I can’t imagine they’re much different than any other manufacturer. I’m just gonna chalk it up to personal preference.

Gen4 G19 (ZEV) and G43 (Overwatch), but I've also shot Gen3's with ZEV triggers too. All nice.

I've never had that experience with Glock triggers

Makes me wonder if it's a NY trigger or something else

I've got Glocks of every generation and multiple models...all the triggers are almost identical and aren't as bad as being described

    Your IP says NY

They have different triggers for NY Glocks...they're fucking insanely heavy compared to standard Glocks

It does sound like a NY trigger.

As was mentioned, have you considered polishing the internals?

Important to note, I have little experience with any pistols other than s&w m&p and now this glock. I'm mostly an ar-15 guy. So i'm not really sure how "bad" this trigger is, I only know its worse then the m&ps I've shot.

My ZEV was the full kit with springs, striker, pad, ejector housing, etc. My Overwatch is just a drop-in trigger shoe/bar.

Ya a new striker spring would really help with the weight of pull, the apex kit did not come with one.

That's an extremely cheap and simple fix. I wouldn't give up hope yet.
