Quick shake-out trip for the Canopy Camper (did an overnight the other day, but this was multiple days to see how all the systems work). I did pick campgrounds, which isn't my first choice with this setup, but wanted to have facilities available for my first multi-day trip as I wasn't sure how the rig would work. I was quite impressed with how well it did. Both water and electrical capacity seemed to be really good (12 gal tank, didn't use all of that, and 130W solar panel did great, which I wasn't sure of). Also, got to test out the Dickinson heater, and that was a life-saver (although in high winds it does have some challenges, I think something to do with how the intake/exhaust works, but generally not much of a problem).

Some photos from over the weekend. Solar motion lights in the bed worked great.

Camped in the Ozark NF, Arkansas last weekend. Thanks to another TW member who posted the coordinates for this beautiful camp by the Mulberry River.

So jealous of everyone! It's FINALLY starting to turn pleasant outside and I'm busy trying to sell my house, start a new job, and my kid is graduating high school next month. Ironically, I just took delivery of a pop-top truck camper that I don't even have the time to camp in!

Oh well, at least I have a place to keep all the stuff I'm running to Goodwill and the dump nice and dry. I've booked a trip in June to see Colorado and Utah again so pictures forthcoming. Until then I'll be living vicariously thru all of you!

Duratracs performance was excellent aired down with the trailer in the snow on the forest service roads.

This was the first time that I used my Tacoma for my roof top tent (originally on a small trailer) for a visit to Daniel Boone NF in eastern Kentucky. I mounted the tent to Front Funner racks on my Diamondback cover. I currently have a dual battery setup with a fridge inside. Eventually I want to build up the Tacoma more, and add something like a Pull Kitchen? With also owning a very modified Jeep TJ, it's great having the truck bed for stuff!

I also found some poorly maintained county roads, including a few water crossings. The TRD OR's suspension did a nice job with the bumps.
