    Check build thread!
I’ve got a better strategy- look for older relatives who aren’t driving anymore (or have lost license). I’ve been given cars for free that way.

Agreed, although most of the Tesla mods aren’t obvious.

    Jelly on the HellTaco!

It’s a “Raven” Model S with Ludicrous Mode. Same thing as the P100D but with the higher efficiency PMSR motor of the 3/Y on the front. It’s got a Escort Max CI with laser shifters on it, that work quite well.

NICE. My past life I was an installer and did a lot of Escort/K40 installs. Ton of work, but worth it. Now a days I just run my tried and true Valentines. The wife has a Plaid X and I fell in love with the power, so now I am looking at trading the 3 for an S. I feel it's a "grown up" version of the 3. Not to mention all I see are 3's and Y's around everywhere.

Nice! I’m expecting my Plaid S soon. I originally ordered a Plaid + in September 2020, moments after they were available to order, so I’m paying $20k less than MSRP. I’m a little reluctant about the yoke.

So I take it you like the platform(enough to get a 2nd). Good thing you locked in the price before the hikes. I've seen reservation flipping going for $$$. The yoke is dumb. I have a traditional steering wheel waiting to go on.

I’m looking to get in. Any idea what size to get for a Model S Plaid?

Did you go full round, or one of the “squircle” style ones?

I love the size of the S, especially as a road trip vehicle. Anyone that thinks that you need a hybrid to successfully complete a long distance road trip has never done a road trip using a Tesla, and more importantly using the Supercharger network. My complaints have been about the quality of the interior and it seems like the Plaid addresses that with the new interior.

I first intended to buy an electric car then a Tacoma later. I talked to several dealers, Hundi which I liked and Kia, which I thought I could afford, both nice cars. I was told, electricity is not free and your costs, although cheaper, are about half what you pay for gasoline. No such thing as free ride. The Hundi started at 52K, too much for a retired guy. Wife said buy the Tacoma, and we did, for 46K. Hoping for an electric commute car later. Wife likes the truck so we're both happy.

We picked these up about two weeks apart. Totally happy with both. The EV6 AWD is bonkers fun. It took work but we got both without markups.

I just sold a set of TE’s to a local guy who has a MSP. They were 20x10F 20x11R. biggest size Volk makes in 5x120 and 20”. They fit very well. He has some pics in THIS THREAD
thanks. That’s what I’ve been hearing about the S interior space. The 3 is great and I love the car. Just want a little bit bigger.
I went with the “D” yoked round in carbon from RPM Tesla. I like the overall shape of the yoke… just wish it connected at the top. When I’m flipping a U, I sometimes go to grab the top and it’s not there
