I cant take nearly the same credit that JustDSM deserves. Auto trans side of the equation is rather simple, two inputs (throttle and driveshaft rpm) and make a line for various shift points. The rest that JustDSM does the ACTUAL tune of the engine... lordy thats all over the place.

@JustDSM Question: If I sell my truck, as I understand it the credits I purchased to tune it are non-transferrable. But I can still use my hptuners hardware and purchase more credits to use it on another vehicle, right? I think that's how I read their FAQ but want to make sure

    Correct.

The credits you used to license your truck are tied to your MPVI2. You can keep the unit, buy more credits and tune any other supported vehicle.

Well my truck is back on stock tune now and I must say it's a world away from your tune. It feels much more sluggish now. So props to you and your magic! Do you do 2019+ Tundras? I see on their website 2007-18 is supported. I've not been able to find what they changed in 2019-2021 though

They may not have updated their page yet. I can confirm we have support for '19+ Tundras. @PNWTacoma has our premium file and I've heard he likes it more than the Raptor.. ;)

Sweet! I'll definitely be hitting you up for that. It's a waiting game for my Tundra TRD Pro now....

So I am still new here and couldnt figure out how to search this thread. My question is, will the tune be able to remove the idle hang and rev hang between shifts in a manual transmission?

Edit: I figured out the search function here, first forum I've been on, and found my answer for rev hang. It appears to be able to remove it

    Yes, it can be removed.

Keep in mind the MPVI2 itself does not come with any calibration support. You’ll either need to tune it yourself or get a tune.

If you’re looking to purchase your own MPVI2 and purchase a tune, I can assist you. If you’re looking to just get tuned you can get your truck dialed in from one of our many authorized network tuners. Too see if one is in your area, checkout this page:

I would enjoy tuning it myself, guidance would be much appreciated as I am new to tuning. My truck is still stock so I imagine changes would be minor to begin. I gotta look into the MPVI2 and what else it can do before I pull the trigger on one.

I’m just now scratching the surface, but I think HP tuners is the way to go for what I’m trying to do. It’s a 2009 TRD OR. I’m running a fuel cell but want to ditch the evap system and kill the dash light. I could live with the light, but the fact that I lose traction control and possibly abs I don’t like. I had rather find someone to tune it out if it’s more cost efficient than buying the software/dongle. I doubt I will need it for anything else. Any suggestions?

You can disable the MILs for the Evap stuff, very easy to do yourself. You should just get the tuner/credits so you can make infinite changes down the line. Probably cheaper than having someone do it since you still have to buy the credits either way.

Alright I’ve got some research to do. What are credits? How easy is this to use compared to something like Forscan?

You buy the tuner dongle, and you buy the credits for whatever vehicles you want to tune. Once you unlock a vehicle with credits you can continue to make as many changes as you like.

I'm not familiar with the Forescan, looks like this is just an OBD2 reader? The HPTuners software is extremely easy to use otherwise, and you've got plenty of folks willing to help here.
