I have 265/70r17 on TRD SEMA wheels with no lift...yet. With stock mud guards there was rubbing in reverse while turning on the drivers side. I don't have any rubbing with the RekGens installed. Once I get my lift installed and everything aligned I might change up wheel and tire size but for now this works for me. I do know if I add anymore weight to my front end I will probably rub again when going reverse and turning on an incline so I am holding off on some mods until after my suspension lift.

I have the TRD lift and I have the same, a small rub when turning left and going through a bump or ditch on my driver's side. Perhaps I should look into RekGens

I cut down the spacer they give you with the rekgens by maybe 1/4” or so. This is for the top screw on inside of wheel well. That is the one you rub on. I run 265/75 16 on stock off-road wheels and don’t rub.

RekGen also made in USA. I believe RockBlocks are as well. Don’t know about the rest.

I went with RekGen. I didnt like the look of mudflaps at first, but used to it now - better for my truck's paint and the people behind me.

Side note: despite constant customer feedback, RekGen still ships their flaps with the mounting hardware mislabled. The front flap hardware is labeled as rear, and vice versa. Also, the Rekgen mounting hardware itself is literally just screws and rubber tubing you can get at a hardware store cut down. The flaps themselves are quality, but the mounting hardware itself feels a little bootleg. (it has held up just fine though)

For some trucks there is a rough coating under neat edges of the truck..to protect those areas from debris…
Also the rear button of the fender..you may see a plastic liner… 2019 TRD…

The mud flaps do offer some protection…but limited…. I remember once only seeing a full size P/U…had mud flaps under the whole bumper…

Some people will wrap the front end…to protect from debris…. The front MASK…
How far do we need to go..?
    Aloha,

    Hope it don’t “HAIL”…

Common sight around here. The bumper flap is to protect a trailer from rocks and dust. I briefly considered that option, but can't get over how stupid they look.

With the exception of the SR SX trim. Happy with the look & function of my OEM mudguards. Don't drive on anything worse than gravel, snow, & ice though. Serious offroading & rock crawling would IMHO call for something more flexible.

Just remember if you do a little off roading..fall into a hole or dip..if reversing..it will push the mud flaps to the tires…ripping them off…. Reason for me not wanting mud flaps…. I had a 1996 Toyota P/U…first year..got the factory mud flaps torn off…backing up…
And taking them on and off just to go off roading..is not appealing…live on a farm…it is off roading ever day..Coffee farm on a hillside..
Yes if I had mud flaps ...my truck would look so much cleaner…. Being rainy almost every day (April showers)…
My Tacoma color ..call Super white…lol. And the farm dirt is Super brown…just like the color of Coffee..lol
    Aloha

    I have the same mud-flaps/mud-guards/debris deflectors...Yeah!!!

It wouldn't benefit those who go over terrain that may cause contact and ruin mounting points and wheel-well.

These are more for paved roads, deflecting debris away from the paint at the back of the wheel.

Always two ways of thinking…add the mud flaps to prevent debris damages…or just remove the debris from the roads that causes the damages?

My left brain…really thinks like the right side…lol. Always thinking…. That is why flying to the Sun at night is safer..?

I got Amazon OEM style mudflaps for about $50 and I trimmed about 6" off with tin snaps and then sanded them smooth. This helps keep road or dirt spray off the sides without scraping or breaking off and looks way better IMO similar to stock mudflaps on the newer Chevy's. The length of the OEM mudflaps look comically long and ridiculous to me so this is a good middle ground for someone on the fence about getting them.
