    Thanks :hattip:

I pulled a camper with my second gen for a couple years. Some of the hills around here might slow you down and eat your fuel economy but let's be real nobody drives a Tacoma for the fuel economy

I’m averaging 11/12mpg with this… hills should be okay, I did this last week.

Thankfully very dry, 15/20mph head wind sucked coming from I25, the wind helped on the descent though. Sketchy road, I’m sure it was way worse before the improved it.

We came down this way because I70 was getting hammered with snow last week.

Does anyone have any insight if out of round tires can cause pre-mature rotor warping? I got new tires since my last set were shot and my rotors started feeling horrible after maybe 30k miles on them. I've heard of OEM sets going for 60k+ miles.

I was looking into StopTech rotors but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money over stock. StopTech rotors and pads were amazing on my Legacy GT, I'm just not sure if they have rotors and pads for Tacomas specifically. Also, does anyone have any rear drum suggestions? I've been towing my RZR around so I'd like something with better braking but could stick with OEM.

Also, I built a new body for my TRX-4 crawler build recently. If only my full sized truck was this capable haha.

Rotors don't warp due to tires being out of round. They do warp if they get overheated. Fast braking, frequently, and while towing can warp rotors easily.

My 2012 Tundra rotors had 1 emergency stop in them and they would warp, normal driving and even towing wasn't bad but one "Oh Shnit!" brake application and they were pulsing a bit.

My wife had a 12' Sequoia and it went thru rotors like they were going out of style. She didn't drive it hard but all it took was one good stop and they would be done.

Just enough to look kinda cool.
Rotors will warp with excessive heating, I thought I had warped rotors and after 1 rotor set, and 2 sets of pads I found that my caliber was actually failing and causing me a steering wheel shake when under hard breaking. I could see the pad was wearing unevenly because one piston had failed.

Did you end up getting a new caliper? What did that cost you? I'm hoping it's not a piston but if it is probably a good excuse to do a big brake kit.

I just got one from orileys, and after looking into a BBK the gain wasn’t all that much on a second gen only a small gain on rotor size.

Agreed. I wouldn't ever buy a truck without 4wd myself. Unless I lived further south and knew it would never go away from pavement.
