    well one time going above the change won’t drastically effect the cars life I don’t think. As long as he doesn’t make a habit of it. I know drive almost 90 miles a day for work so I know how quick they rack up. It’s easy to lose track of when the change is due even for someone diligent with maintenance. Hopefully no long term damage was done, I view this incident as the equivalent of eating a McDonald’s cheeseburger or two once in a while, might not be the best for your long term health but it won’t kill ya :rofl:

    I read a story years ago about someone who bought a new Kia Sorento in July 2012 then put 20K miles miles on it over the course of two years without once changing the oil and totally destroyed the engine; The thing was still running, but burning oil at a rate of roughly a quart every 300 miles. Obviously, the warranty was totally voided; I think the owner ended up having to put a new engine in out of pocket.

    You mean the A/C? Not the worse I've heard; My truck was $1,600 for a new evaporator core, but that was at the stealership...

    My truck has some newer refrigerant, something like XYZ123 so it's surely expensive AF.

    R1234yf; Didn't know 2017s had that. My dad's 2018 GMC Yukon has it, and my mechanic can't service it because he doesn't have the equipment.

    I didn't propane was ever the primary refrigerant; The fridge in my uncle's 1969 Airstream camper cools using propane...

    the RVs don’t use the propane as refrigerant. I know that they used propane for household back on the day but not sure on automotive. I’m sure it’s gonna kill a few people if a crash happens but more people die a year because of self inflicted health problems anyhow, it’s probably a wash lol

    @shakerhood

    I saw this 1984 Ford Mustang GT350 at a car show this past Sunday; I had no idea there was such a thing as a GT350 Fox Body, but apparently Ford got sued by Carroll Shelby over this and won!

    I vaguely recall a Mustang SS too but that obviously created a rift with GM and it was cancelled abruptly.
