I got the Rok Bloks to replace my factory guards, they were going to get ripped off on the trails. I get a new Windshield in AZ about once a year, and I wish more people would be less selfish and use them on their lifted trucks and jeeps. I'm at stock height, 16x8 0mm wheels with 265/75r16, no rubbing.

Mud flaps do protect other people’s cars…. The worst is following the vehicles who’s tires are sticking outside of the fenders…in mud, or rain…,gravels…
Personally…doesn’t look cool..and breaks the laws.. creates lot more damages to others..

A rule of thumb…for every inch you raise up a truck..to balance..you need widen the stance by two inches…

I still remember when we had skate boards…we started with metal wheel ..then plastic type wheels were the king..one day a another kid came out with a new design skateboard..where the wheel sticking way out…like those trucks…we thought ..”COOL”…
    Aloha

Most of us probably never paid much attention to mud flaps…. After reading everything here…about mud flaps..
I going guess…Most of will starting to notice Tacomas if they got mud flaps..or not…?

Can we get a count ..How many you saw with or with out mud flaps? To make it easy..1-2 days?
    Aloha

Ditto on RekGen. Easy to install, flexibility inhibits snow/ice accumulation, and they look good. The labeling snafu is hard to figure though.

I had cracked/broke 3 of my 4 OEM mudguards inside a year and a half of going in and out to my buddy's cabin 5.5 miles in on a "Jeep Trail" (as labeled on map). Replaced them with RokBlox mudflaps last year. No regrets, love them, so much more durable + at much colder temps. I suspect Winter trips on snow and ice is what did in the OEMs.
Additionally I drove the truck w/o OEMs for a bit...the occasional "tink tinks" of rocks on paint was noticeable.
One last note, I suspect many states require them by law. I know Alaska has an "anti-spray device" law on the books that, while seldom written up/enforced, is still a law with an intent. Source? My neighbor is a recently retired AK State Trooper. Couple pics of "Stitch" attached.

They came with the vehicle, they stay on the vehicle. I have had 1-2-3 Gen and never took them off and the sides never seen stone chips etc. Don't off road into big major rock climbing or anything like that.

for on road, the stockers do a good job. any offroading, and you will likely break them since they are so stiff.

My two cents…I hate the way they look and I don’t have them but within a couple weeks of having my truck I got a nice big paint chip on my front passenger door from a rock that my tires kicked up :annoyed:

I’d definitely get them if you spend any amount of time on gravel roads. They didn’t come on my truck but if they had been on the truck, I definitely would have left them on.

Its illegal here to drive without mud flaps on your truck if no fenders here in connecticut. Some states like california its just illegal not to have them on any vehicle.

I have the OEM on the back but nothing on the front. Will have sliders soon to knock down any rocks kicked up.

    Oh look, another mod....
I love my Tuf Skin mud flaps. They reduce the mud striping that I use to get when driving down dirty roads.

Mudguards look ugly but ultimately protect the paint on the truck in specific areas.

My 2019 TacomaTRD…Purchase from a local Toyota dealer…came with NO mud flaps…apparently not require by State laws
But the same Toyota dealer told me, ( my truck was in for service)…We cannot give you a safety check? Why?
Anytime you lift your truck…THE State laws require’s mud flaps…? Was lift 2.5 last year..

My son’s 2016 Tacoma TRD , 2.5 inch’s …just got a safety check ..from a independent Safety Check station…The person research if his truck needed mud flaps..came back and said NO…he passed..and got his sticker..

Anyways ..My Safety check expires, next month (May ). And I will go to the same safety check station…if NO?
I did purchase the Tufskins OME fit mud flaps…and if needed ..I will put them on…
    Aloha,
