Anyone got any recs for southern nh contractors?
Looking at maybe adding a gutter on the back of the house, an electrician to replace some wiring, maybe hire someone with sealing a skylight and some replacement flashing

@mach1man001 and any other auto audio folks, I’m looking to replace my speakers in the runner, looking for thoughts. I’ve been looking around on crutchfield a little bit, still haven’t been able to make a choice, but keep getting more expensive as I keep looking.

@mach1man001 recommended some focals that were like 50 percent off when I got them from Crutchfield and I am definitely not disappointed

Lots of good brands out there and most will improve the sound over stock. What's your budget and are you doing anything else to your setup?

Just speakers currently, might be convinced into a amp, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Budget is flexible if worth it.

edit: it’s an eight speaker system, so realistically it’s going to be at least 400 on the cheap end, so 800 will probably be the area I’ll be ok with.

I’ve been looking at some focals as one of the options.

What are you running for head unit (I noticed you aren't currently using an amplifier)?

I got my Yokohamas at the dealer a couple of years ago, they had the best price around on what I wanted.

Crutchfield is my usual go to.

I've been happy with the Rockford Fosgate speakers as well as MTX

JBL makes a nice speaker along with JL. Cerwin Vega if they still make speakers is good as well. Rob is an audiophile and likes the high end stuff like Boston Acoustics and Focal @mach1man001

would folks agree Folcal is better built than JBL? I had a JL set in my cart the other day, but decided against as the set had the 2 door fronts and 2 tweeters, but it seemed they valued their tweeters at like 10 bucks apiece and that has me 2nd guessing them.

If you're not going to be installing an amp the most important spec to be looking at is efficiency. You are going to want the speakers to be as efficient as possible so that your radio can drive them. Remember a stock radio is probably going to have even less power than a cheap aftermarket one and it's eq'd. Any of the speakers mentioned are most likely going to be an improvement over the stock setup. When Jason was in the market the Focal's were perfect because of their sound quality, efficiency and pricing. If you want I can take a look and give you some recommendations.

Recommendations would be nice. I have gone back and forth with a few different brands.

When I upgraded the speakers in my tacoma, I went with an aftermarket head unit to get some more power, but it still couldn't adequately drive the 6.5" in the doors - without an amp to help push them, I was left with a very 'tin'-ish sound and lost some bottom end. If I could do it again, I would of added in a small amp to help drive them, but hindsight is 20-20. I didn't want to get involved with re-wiring the truck at the time and it showed.

Gone are the high school days of riding dirty - used to run 2x15" audiobahn subs with a 3000 watt amp in my poor Nissan Altima. Even with the 2 farad capacitor, the headlights would dim with every hit.

I am a boring old man with audio.

About 10 minutes out of the year I think “I need a better system”, otherwise meh. It gets the point across

I AM thinking about setting up second battery on solar, to run a 20QT fridge and potentially a mini dehumidifier - my cab gets moist overnight with the windows up  but, ultimately TBD. I don’t think that will happen this year even if it does. Setting up a switch pannel and some chase lights soon though.

Fridge would be more for overkill than a need. The only trip I could use it on would be north maine woods. Otherwise, almost every trip I am passing a store at least daily to re-stock ice if needed.

Would be really nice, but ultimately not sure it’s worth 225$ for a fridge (after most likely failing at finding a used one), 200$ on the solar/battery setup at least. TBD but unlikely short term.
