They are a legit site. Shameless plug here, but we have Fox shocks on the shelf here at Hotshot Offroad, and if you're in need of something fine-tuned for your application then Accutune runs an excellent operation as well. Not only that, but we also are active here and in other customer service avenues should you need support.

@AccuTune Offroad, your bump stop article made me curious so I went to check my part number. I thought I had the up to 3" lift 2.0 shock based on what the vendor said...turns out my part number is for the up to 1.5" lift! That came as a shocker! Haha...I'll see myself out.

But I guess this is the excuse I need to upgrade to 2.5s? :anonymous:

What's the lead time for a set of those snazzy new orange/black shocks?

My rears arrive Friday! Sounds like fronts aren’t too far behind

stoked that @AccuTune Offroad is taking care of me on these. Will have them installed in a little over a month for eye candy :bananadance:

now just deciding if it’s worth cerakoting aluminum body shocks. They’d look nice but time effort new stickers would be needed

Cerokote? Curious why you would want to go that route?

Well it all started because I could match them to my bronze wheels…:anonymous:

Likely I’ll be too lazy but it looks super sweet. They have a clear designed for aluminum. Just would keep them looking new a lot longer don’t think there’s really any purpose per say

I am also considering a clear topcoat (not necessarily Cerakote) for mine but still undecided. My reason is much the same as @TheIncredibleTaco - I want them to look new longer. My Bilstein 6112/5160 combo quickly turned ugly (not rusty just dulled the shiny finish; and yes different materials, I know) without a top clearcoat and I'd rather not repeat that over again.

Maybe I'm vain but whatever. If I'm spending this kind of money for shocks then gosh darnit yeah I want them to look nice to show them off.

I thought that I read somewhere on TW that 4 full turns equals 1/4 inch of lift. Does this sound right?

How much of a difference does the adjusters make? I went from all the way open to all the way closed I couldn’t tell a difference. I’m planning on sending the Coil-overs for a rebuild/retune in around 3 weeks because they have around 45k miles on them.
I was wondering if that would make the adjusters to really make a difference or if I would have to replace the adjusters

Accutune, I've installed my FOX-985-26-118 in the rear from you guys. Couldn't be happier with the ride. Although I do have a quick question, how do I adjust the knob? It doesn't want to turn in either direction. Also, after valving, what do you guys set them to before shipping? Thanks!

Not sure if they salt the roads in Wisconsin, but I highly recommend coating those Deavers with something. Mine are rusty after 9 months...

Good call. Our roads here in the Milwaukee/Chicago metroplex during winter are more salt than blacktop. Have used Woolwax since I got my truck and it's prevented any and all rust on the chassis/undercarriage. To paraphrase those Franks' RedHot commercials "I put that [stuff] on everything".

What coilovers did you get? Of the 2.0s that are set to 2" lift you must compress them to change ride height. They are aluminium and will strip the collar if you try to use a spanner wrench with the coils installed. They need removed, compressed, adjusted and reinstalled. Yes alignment should be done when changing ride height. IMO 2" lift is perfect for ride quality, part longevity and down travel.
