From a very reliable source, 2023 will not be a redesign. I am ordering a 2023 to replace my stolen 2020.

Internal documents leaked a while ago showed the Tacoma as 2024 model year. They have followed the document thus far so highly unlikely they would accelerate it by 1 year. 2023 was reserved for Sequoia and 4Runner updates. They showed the Sequoia but not the 4runner yet. So wondering if that is delayed.

The artist rendering in the article is pretty close considering that toyota already revealed a spec car of the Tacoma EV.

    Every warranty available.
the current trend is going down a "level". i wouldnt be surprised (albeit pissed) if the v6 is cut altogether. maybe a i4 and i4turbo only.
look at the raptor over the last decade.

    That's what I'm wondering.

Because Ford put the turbo in the Ranger at all levels.

The turbo makes the same hp as the 6...so it'd be weird to offer both.

Most speculation is turbo or hybrid. Not hearing anything about a 6.

Might be getting too old for this.
I'll bet it will be one engine with either a turbo option or a hybrid system, ala Tundra. You can also bet it will be a 4 cylinder so as to not cut into Tundra performance like Ranger/F-150.

Yeah, I doubt they'd put a 6 in it considering it would then compete with the Tundra.

Here’s something you can count on because it comes straight from Toyota:
    https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-invests-383-million-in-us-production/

“Advancing the company’s commitment to vehicle electrification, Toyota will invest $383 million in four of its U.S. manufacturing plants that build the heart of new Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The new investment supports the production of four-cylinder engines, including options for hybrid electric vehicles, at its Alabama, Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee plants.”

A hybrid electric in a Tacoma would be the best of both worlds at this point in time and should deliver both long range and improved performance. I have no doubt a turbo will be on at least some non-hybrid Toyota models as well.

I’ve seen lots of articles about that but not anything directly from Toyota to confirm the Tacoma will have a hybrid. Link to where Toyota has stated that please? I would certainly think they would but looking for a link where Toyota has confirmed it. I did see Toyota has shown a future electric Tacoma.

If they do make a Tacoma Hybrid hope it is to improve MPG, in the Tundra it's basically just for a higher power rating with only like a 1 MPG bump.

Supposedly at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. I don't speak Chinese so I have to rely on the same articles as you.

Ya, if they do the hybrid and it's for improved MPG I would trade early. I love my 2022 and the 23MPG I'm consistently getting is nice, but more would be better.

I'm pretty good at English, but only because I took the the class multiple times.

I’d go with a ‘doka’ buzz (electric) instead of a twin turbo… and no manual.

(But there would be no off-roading!)
