Because Toyota is always one of the last to convert to “new technology”.

Plus, they don’t have to do any more research. They just threw on the same old stuff that’s “worked” since 95’

I'd wonder why the drain plug magnet was missing

No telling. It’s either stuck to axle housing or it came out when someone else removed the plug.

In my limited experience. Rear ends that are failing like to make more noise when “not” under a load.
On the gas, the noise is much quieter. Off the gas it will whine.

I’m not say that’s your problem. But your symptoms seem consistent so far.

If the noise is under load, it is a sure bet a bearing is about to fail.

I don’t know. OP’s prior post seems to say it happen when both pressing the pedal and releasing pedal?
And some where in between it doesn’t make the noise?

Don’t take the insults too hard. For the most part, the majority of TW is super helpful.

I wonder if he is getting really bad axle wrap. Super heavy wheels and tires plus a 6 inch block lift.

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
I'd worry about getting longer brake lines next after you fix this problem. Impressively poor job the PO did on that lift.
