I’ve never received such letter nor have I ever canceled them online….

 

This… am I missing something?!

 

I think it has to do with people putting fake stickers on the old tags. It's primarily a SC thing that I know of.

 

You can do that in any state though! Honestly wished I kept the Michigan permanent trailer plate on the LUV-BOX was pissed when I found out I had to register it and pay taxes!

 

I hate the new sc plate

So why did you put tags and stuff on your trailer in SC I thought ya'll didn't need any of that mess down there.

 

I wonder in Anderson how long you could run an old tag with a fake sticker... probably could least go a yr...

 

I’ll bet longer. I’ve seen a lot of crazy stuff on Anderson roads for over 22 years now. I had a friend running old NC tags on his car for over 5 years.

 

You'd make it about a week in Mauldin before you got pulled over for something or other

 

Taxes are a bit higher in those high rent districts…gotta have that income!

we don't but if we want to travel out side of SC with the trailer we need tags on it for those states that require tags

 

Hmmmmm by that logic then states that require a front license plate all the states that don't require it would need to have one to travel to those states.

 

I know I pulled a boat all over the south east and was never pulled over for not having a trailer tag.

 

I know several people who do the same.

 

You would think so

it's gotten tougher now. I've already got a ticket in North Carolina for my camping trailer that didn't even come with a title or anything you do to how small it is so I do have it titled now. Just need to finish getting a tag for it but a lot of states that require tags on trailers used to be. If you were registered in another state that doesn't require it, you were fine. But now if they feel picky, they can't stop you and issue you a ticket even though you're registered in a different state that doesn't require tags on trailers

 

Walked out back and seent an arm sticking through wooden privacy gate missing board petting Ullie. Someone almost got there arm lopped off!
