I started reading...I think the Toyota dealer ripped me off. Leather seats are apparently standard!

Not the most stylish?????? They list the Dakota as STYLISH??? A rolling coffin look, a Ram-sized squared-off front, and everything else the same way. The look of the Tacoma is the REASON people buy this truck , the goodies, luckily are there too.

I agree, the taco is the best looking truck on the road in my opinion. I think it looks much better than the Frontier and infinately times better than anything dodge makes

That's because WE ROCK!!!! nd...Black Sand Pearl. I just bought new seat covers today. My Mods, that and the shell... not really Cool but fun...I do also make a 3 piece plywood covered in heavy carpet over pad. It becomes my bed mat . Form fitting , but in 3 pieces for easy removel . The heavy carpet is attached to the cutout pieces. It is costly carpet, sculptured type , it doesn.t take much, remnants are like $75 and the plywood about $20-25. Cut the plywood, pad, upholster , and staple down the carpet to the wood, you're done. 3 pieces that can be taken out or left in. Make a paper pattern for the wood and cut it about one in or so in to accommodate the carpet thickness.-Rich

"Access Cab's backseat not suitable for passengers"

WTF! I didn't get the access can so I could put passengers in it. How stupid! If you want passengers you get the double cab. I bought the access because I have no kids, I use it for my dogs and it's plenty of room for what I need. I wanted a 4 cyl as well.

    Just another stupid comment.

AND now to further confuse all of you, we add another stupid thing to all of this: http://www.wsmv.com/iteam/14295351/detail.html

I am sorry, if your truck is accelerating without your control and you aren't bright enough to throw it into neutral - you shouldn't be driving. I had a Jeep Liberty CRD that pulled that one on me. All I had to do was push the shifter into neutral (auto tranny) and hit the brakes.

If it is a manual tranny - hit the clutch. :der:

I was thinking that too, Nutral or turn off the engine and pull over.

Got my Access cab for more leg room, seat in my old Mazda didnt go back far enough, groceries, lugage, gym bag and cat carrier/transporter.

What's with the thread-jacking pics? They have nothing to do with the US News article.

I had some air sensor problems, I think that 's what it was with my K+N. Somebody said too much oil? I am kind of afraid to go the oil route again. Does the AFE drop in high flow oiless work?????Thanks Rich [IMG]

Mine is an oiled AFE. I would have gotten an oil-free AFE if I had known they existed when I bought it (stupid me didn't do enough research).

Right! I also suspect that hitting the brakes was not what some (all?) of these drivers may have done. When you push even harder on a pedal, and the truck goes still faster, just maybe ya put your foot on the gas. I'll grant that is is possible for a loose floor mat to get stuck under the pedal. Or that some piece o loose junk on the driver's side got stuck. That's not a safety defect warranting a recall or major investigation. Keep the loose junk on the passenger side, and make sure your mats are clipped down ( I seem to recall seeing a thread here about that one.:frusty:

"happier hauling or towing something, or negotiating rocks in a river"
"The Tacoma continues to ride like a truck"

Were these complaints? It IS a truck. As for hauling, towing, or rocks in a river, those were the reasons I bought a 4X4 truck, to have those capabilities. I don't expect reviews of a product I love to be 100% praise, but I do expect complaints or objections to be reasonable for the type of product being evaluated.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
"Drivers point out that the 2007 Tacomas don't even have the recalled all-weather floor mats."

BS...just because they werent recalled in the taco's doesnt mean that they arent the same ones as in those cars. mine cme w/ all weather mats in it from the dealer. i clipped in the drivers side like it was supposed to be and i've never had any problems. granted, i'm not gonna unclip them to try out the theory....there are thousands of things that u can not follow directions on using and get hurt.
