If it's a BEV it would have just one speed.

I'm not sure how popular a BEV Tacoma would be. Not that this is any indication to Tacoma pricing. The F-150 lighting Lariat is around $90,000 so is a Raptor that isn't loaded up with options. While some people will want the electric Lighting, there will be many more for at the same price would likely get into a Raptor.

I have to wonder who would buy a Tacoma TRD Pro or an electric Tacoma, for the same price?

Might be getting too old for this.
I've done some research on this and good luck finding a Raptor for less than $100k...and that's not loaded.

Just going by the MSRP online at a dealer. Those Lightings will probably have a higher mark up. One place had a 10k off listing, on the price of a new Raptor. I didn't bother looking to see what the price was or if that was 10k off the adjusted price. Most of the Raptors I see list for under $90,000 MSRP, I don't think those have a lot of options. I know that might not be the final asking price.

The ones listed at "MSRP" will have markup at the dealer or the MSRP will literally be whatever they marked it up to be. I contacted a joint nearby a few months ago, and they said they would honor MSRP factory orders. Fast forward to present, and they have one on the lot for $90K missing features like pano sunroof.

My guess is the original buyer thought he was getting MSRP and they bait and switched him once it arrived. It's like let me get this straight...'the truck arrives, the dealer takes the key, reaches out to you with the key in one hand and the other hand is open, then tells you that'll be $10-30k more please.' I get why it's a thing but that may it no less easy to swallow.

I know it's an odd process but I want the new Tundra Pro. Since roll out is quite simply a nightmare, I've been looking into the Raptor. Kind of wanted one since they came out. The madness going on right now with supply and demand makes me want to get the heck out of the market until at least next year...let's be honest, I don't have a choice.

You all think the payload will increase / decrease with the addition of turbos and hybrid drivetrains? Tundra payload is still pretty low comparatively to other trucks, it makes me think Toyota will downsize the payload #s to not canabalize their trucks.

    A few.
More like dis-information. The 2023 tacoma will be the same as current 2022 model with some color changes. That rendering in that article was basically stolen from tbe Automotive Press youtube channel who created it months ago.

Drum brakes are great. 150 000km on the original drum shoes and she stops on a dime.

There will probably be a high clearance ZR2 style bumper on the Pro, and OR. Nissan can't show them up with the PRO4X. No telling what kind of front accent lighting there might be.

The 8 speed in my wife's Camry is a dream. But, I'd have to agree on the current 6 speed. Putting 529 gears in it fixed it, but there shouldn't be a fix needed. Not sure what they were thinking
