Just to chime in on the Union discussion. I’ve been in the carpenters union 25 years. The benefits are excellent, (pension, healthcare, savings plan…) that said, the Union itself has lost its cause. It’s there to protect and back their members. It does nothing of the sort! It thinks we, the members are there for them…WRONG! The union extorts members to do their bidding. The members DO NOT work for the union, the union works for the members. The members dues pay their salaries. The BA barks orders at me!?! You work for me, how dare he!
As I mentioned, the benefits are excellent. Those running the carpenters union are straight SCUM.

Any interest in a Decked system for a shortbed? I'm thinking about selling mine, just need to find the front mounting brackets (forgot where I put them when I cleaned out and rearranged the shed). I never used the front brackets to mount it, just the J hooks on the rear, never had a problem with it moving, made it easier for removal and install of the system so I didn't have to keep removing the top boards to unbolt the front brackets. It's been sitting in my carport for a year now. I haven't posted it anywhere yet, figured I'd give someone on here first dibs.

 

Somewhat of a early day still worked 10hrs but home before 6 that's a plus. Too bad the wind is blowing 30mph

i think unions are good for those willing to work, but allow for the slugs to get by and no repercussion. having supervised a crew of union workers for several years, there was no incentive to do good work because raises are defined by the CBA, not by the merit and work ethic of the individual. You’ll have plenty of good workers willing to do a quality job but also plenty of ball bags that just sit back and work the system. I still think we need more unions because it won’t allow large companies to take advantage of their workers, and that continues to become a larger problem as these large companies merge and only get larger.

Side note, I view one of my greatest accomplishments was getting a union guy fired, what a feat. He was a poor worker and even their union fellows wanted him out, I had to document everything and have several meetings with shop stewards and union reps. Getting trained in the MARC principles surely helped there, IBEW 94 is a pretty strong union over here.

I cleared out all the brush and bushes around our large pond yesterday - today I reward myself by getting fitted for new golf clubs! Early birthday present.

 

My brother has it. Working on rehabbing it.

Cast came off yesterday now I have to wear a brace for I don’t know how long. The scar is not as bad as I thought it was goin to be.

I actually didn’t need any pain meds at all. Just took Tylenol once or twice and that was it. PT starts in 2weeks
