Removing gasket material from the block, dropped a chisel. Bounced into the radiator and now it’s leaking lmao. Just my luck

on a positive note the chisel is sharp

 

I made a similar mistake. Gave me the opportunity to install the new A/C condenser that had been in my attic for years......

I’ve done something similar to my kraut car. Was trimming the lower portion of the core support to clear a new intercooler. A chunk of plastic (sigh, yes, plastic) got under my safety glasses and made me twitch. Die grinder straight into the condenser. PWOOOSH! Filled the entire shop with R134 and a fine cloud mist of oil. That shit stinks.

So, $204 for an OEM replacement. For the money is there a better option? Or should I save a few bucks and snag one off Rockauto?

Never had cooling issues with my truck (except when the radiator was packed with mud) so don’t have much of a justification to ‘upgrade’.

 

man i can identify with those mistakes. a csf radiator is a pretty sweet upgrade!

Can you guys post up your engine oil cooler setups? Trying to find inspiration

 

Mine is the OEM oil cooler that comes with the tow package.

 

I have the heat exchanger/cooler installed thanks to resources on here. I'm looking to install a separate engine and trans cooler for further cooling. I don't have a trans cooler yet but picked up a Derale dual fan. And will run that behind my bash plate with some vents. But real estate is tight behind there with the s/c water pump in an awkward location up front.

 

Question have any of y’all installed the URD headers without using the recommended Permatex Ultra Copper Sealant and had no issues? Sounds dumb but I’m just thinking if I ever have to remove them it will be a pain to clean that gasket material off the head
