I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight thinking about that off-center stick-on hood scoop.

offset right just like that one is because tank is on the left. One guy I saw swapped in a whole fj80 rear axle, but they use different wheel speed sensors, so the speedo is borked. Another guy I saw is cutting the 9.5" center section out and using the t4r outers

second question unanswered right now lol

Anyone have any recommendations for places to mount and balance beadlocks in NoVA?

Not sure if high tech auto in chantilly can do beadlocks, but they are a good off road shop and would recommend them.

Gonna be a tricky one because beadlocks aren’t street legal. Plus torquing the beadlock ring correctly is so high stakes I wouldn’t trust anyone but myself to be honest. I mounted mine myself and went to a run of the mill tire shop and they balanced well with no issues.

Mounted yours yourself huh? How difficult was that, and did it require any new specific tools?

The only difficult part is getting the old tires off because you need to break the back bead. Any tire shop can do that but I chose to try it myself with a hi lift, which worked but it was a lot of work and not worth it. Next time I'm paying the tire shop to break the bead.

Getting the new tire on wasn't difficult. You just spray it down with soapy water and it slips on fairly easily. Then bolt the ring on and torque it down. That outer ring is the only thing holding that outer bead onto the tire so if that comes off or is damaged during install or whatever, you're fucked. That's why I don't trust a shop to take the time to do it correctly. You snug the bolts up and then torque to 15, then 20, then 23 (or whatever the final torque spec is for yours). The only tool I needed to buy was a 3/8" drive torque wrench.

There are a bunch of videos on youtube that outline the process. It's not hard, just tedious.
