OMG your a life saver. Question is should they shoot the taser at me or just go up and poke me with the prongs. I'm worried the resistance of the wires of the deployed taser might not give me the energy boost I need.

But I dont have 2 AKs and all I have is a 12ga. He didnt say if a shotgun would work. Stamped receivers probably conduct electricity differently than non stamped receivers.:notsure:

You would be correct. Inverters and Converters are two completely different animals. They don't belong in the start trek universe, you can't just reverse the polarity to make it work.

Instead imma gonna need a bunch of lemons, some galvanized nails, and a copper wire. Let's McGuyver this bitch back to life.

If you were below the equator this would be an issue but since you are above and in Central Time you're good. Eastern time all bets would be off.

This isn't going to work. This has to potential to damage your vehicle and whatever source you plug it into.

The layman's explanation? Go look at a battery charger. It converts 120v AC to 12v DC. Look at an inverter, it converts 12v DC to 120v AC. Why can't you buy just one with adapters to plug in to be an inverter or a charger? Because the circuitry is different!

The inverter in your Tacoma is NOT a charger! Don't try it!

At best you'll blow a fuse. Or you will damage circuitry, at worse you'll burn shit up and potentially start a fire.

Easy fix. Higher rated amperage fuses. I pull all factory fuses and just go with 50A blade fuses. They taught us that in the electrical engineering certificate program at the college of the Florida Keys. "When fuses blow, get a higher amperage rated fuse. If that fuse blows keep going up in amperage rating until the fuses stop blowing." IIRC that was chapter 5. I aced chapter 5.

If you cannot tell this is a troll post on a troll thread you are in the wrong place. NEVER do what I mention above.

Wanna test it? Get a battery and a charger. Charge the battery to full and disconnect the charger. Now cut the male AC plug off and replace it with a female end. Get a AC lamp with a tungsten bulb, not the new LED types, the old type. plug the lamp into the female socket. Then reconnect the charger to the battery. Now turn the light on.

    Didn't work, did it?

Yes, this is definitely a Friday Post.

This is an excellent point. OP didn't mention if he was going to be doing this in the daytime or at night so not only do we have the battery issue. We have to figure out how he can see what he is doing in the dark. Does it have to be a tungsten bulb or can it be a fluorescent light? @Squirt what bulbs do you have readily available?

wouldn't it be easier to just take out the battery and use it to start the other vehicle?

so to end this non friday thread, just go take a battery from another vehicle around you, which is what the shotgun would be used for.

Can you explain to the group the difference in male end and female end? I don't want anybody cutting the wrong end off.

OP, go for it, plug the truck in to AC and let Darwinism take effect, we dont need drivers with this little cognitive ability on the road.
