    Laid on my back to wash underside of the truck (instead of getting one of those underbody power washer attachments like @boogie3478), and I saw a bunch of missing paint from my sliders. I knew it was coming, but now thinking I need to touch up sooner. At least my mall crawler skids dont have any scratches. Also need to pull the RCI diff skid and repaint my rear axle. Should I commit and get some Steel-it or just continue with the flat/gloss black paint that I have? $33 per can is a little hard to swallow, but if it lasts over a year, maybe I can deal with it.

    Plus I want to reweld my sliders to my frame.

    If youre gonna keep scraping it up, just rattle can it.

    If it was more visually cosmetic like a rollcage, I'd say Steel-it.

    I continuously have to touch mine up and steel-it for something like that I wouldn’t feel necessary. I use rust oleum flat black and lasts me a good bit with a fair amount of abuse. I would use Steel-it on things that aren’t going to see abuse.

    Rustoleum FTW:

    Need to upgrade the speakers too, to replace the soon to be missing deafening racket of the dakars.

    Hmm i do also, but figured ubolts are a one time use. So i should probably replace them.

    @EatSleepTacos have any ideas?

    Lol one time use my ass. I see people say this and I think it’s a load of BS, no one actually follows that and honestly I don’t think it’s true. Anyways, reuse the shit outta them and torque to spec and recheck after the first 500 miles.

    Edit: I have the archive u bolt flip which uses beefier u bolts. Definitely recommend if you’re gonna buy something

    I've reused them just like Rand. Unless, thanks to the salt and bullshit, the rust is a safety concern.

    Well damn, thats a money saving statement right there! And i like it! I will try it out.

    I do believe that threads stretch over time, but might test it out this time.

    I do want to get new rear bumps. My superbumps in the rear are a bit crusty. Out of the selection, I think I like @ARCHIVE the best. Partially interested in the new ones from Accutune also, but will they fit on the top flip plate that I have now?
