Anyone else get color envy?

I wanted and got the colour I wanted! No envy here....

 

Hey I have a stupid ass question, is cement lunar rock or that dark grey color? Or none of the above? Thanks heh heh.

To answer the original question, no color envy here. I love lunar rock. I do see the quicksand color or that light blue and think “huh, that’s pretty nice with the blackout” but no envy there just admiring.

EDIT: on google cement brings up lunar rock but on a lot of Toyota sites it’s pretty consistently the dark grey listed as cement, hence the confusion

 

Cement and Lunar Rock are pretty close in terms of light/dark, but Cement is a more neutral gray while Lunar Rock is kind of teal-gray

 

So they’re both that flat grey but lunar rocks not the same color? I noticed my rig is greenish in the sun sometimes, you’re saying not all “flat grey” Tacoma’s are lunar rock?

 

Correct, before Lunar Rock the flat gray was Cement, which didn't have the greenish hue that Lunar Rock has

I do - I wanted silver...most of the vehicles over the years for me have been White, Silver or Gold...When i bought my truck they offered me a great deal to take the Cavalry Blue...I like more understated colors like my son's truck (2002 Tacoma)...my wife on the other hand has a diff viewpoint (her new 4Runner)......I actually like the blue color better now, but the GREEN I saved was the primary reason.

Yea they’re super close and this entire time I thought they were the same. After being told they’re different I can see the difference now and it seems obvious despite being confused at first.

 

I read the title too fast and thought it read "cooler envy." I was about to go on a rant about not being able to afford a YETI cooler.

 

I got the Barcelona Red, because at the time (early 2017) that was my favorite color offered. When VooDoo Blue came out, I started salivating and wanting to sell my soul to trade mine for a VooDoo Blue Tacoma. Everytime I see a Taco or 4Runner in VooDoo Blue in the flesh, it still gives me heart palpitations. There is just something about that exact shade of blue that is like an overdose of meth for me.

I do admire the Cavalry Blue. - Awesome color! Second to LR. They do look great together, if you haven’t noticed…

I’d have trouble if the AG was a bit lighter (and did not show swirls as much…). I am a sucker for old Land rovers and AG reminds me of them…
But I passed on an AG.

I love grey, but Cement is too ‘metallic’ for me. -Otherwise I’d be in trouble there too…

I would do any ‘real’ color before any of the the monochrome range.

I could never do black or white.

Edit: I did not mention Voodoo Blue. I can’t help but stare at those! I like that they are around, but I don’t know I’d go for VB or Electric Lime…

 

I wanted black or white but soon realized black gets so dirty so fast and white apparently is prone to paint peeling issues. Also saw one person claim their white taco was a stormtrooper and I was like ya, no thanks lol.

SSM was my 3rd choice for the 2021s. I do like cavalry blue everytime I see them though

 

Voodoo Blue is the only color I'm envious of. It hadn't been introduced when I bought my tacoma.

 

If it ain’t white, it ain’t right! Only color I will buy since spruce mica is gone. My pro is white and wife’s t4r are white and the paint is still perfect 5 years down the road.

Nope. I bought my Tacoma because it was the only 6mt off road on the lot. I didn’t know the name of the paint color until long after I saw a post on here naming it. I still call it gray when people ask me.

TBQH I think trucks should be painted with flat protective paint like that comes on military vehicles and heavy equipment.

I do appreciate nice shirts though.
