How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Can anyone help me with tracking this VIN 3TMCZ5AN7NM16A640 ? When I try opening the tracking link it disappears? I am curious to see when it could be delivered. I don't want my pre-approved auto loan to expire (120) days . I think I'm good until July 22. Thanks

 

Your build date *Should* be week 16 of 2022. Assuming its built then with no delays figure a month to get to dealer after that.

Yeah I agree, I shouldn't have put a $500 deposit on a truck that wasn't allocated. Now that I've put $500 down on one that has a permanent vin in a state away, my local dealer just got an allocation for Week 20 for my exact build He estimates it at Mid to Late June... but I really think it'll be July since it's a week 20 build.

 

Several dealers I talked to either seemed disinterested in helping (slow or no communication with ZERO explanation of the deposit and allocation process) or they weren't taking orders, weren't selling outside their local area or had $3-$5K markups over MSRP. I ended up putting down a $1,000 nonrefundable deposit with a dealer that sells at MSRP, $299 doc fee and no dealer add-ons. I have that in writing. Their sales manager and I talked for 45 minutes about the process, options, how they'd go about trying to get me a truck as soon as possible. They actually showed interest in helping me get a truck. Sales manager was also upfront in saying that it could take months to find an allocation that met EXACTLY what I want. They committed to present options to me as they come available and once I say I want a truck I will have it in writing that they will not sell it out from under me. But I'm keeping my eyes peeled and if I happen to come across a truck elsewhere that meets my specs I'll eat the deposit.

 

On the week 13 build, that is just now THIS week. Congrats on your temp vin not working anymore!

 

Yeah that makes sense, mine was sort of similar, but I was given the impression that it could be 1-2 months if I really wanted it... 3-4 months normally, which I was fine with until rates started jumping up along with excitement. I was under the impression that Toyota factory ordered, but I wish my salesperson would've told me the allocation process better because then I would've wanted to wait till I had a temp vin in hand. Which is funny because I now have a reservation for a permanent vin and a temp vin lol

 

For what it's worth, I dropped $500 at a dealer about the same distance away a couple weeks ago. Temp VIN was a week 13 build. Dealership reached out this Monday to say she was built on 4/20, and the temp VIN stopped working this week. They were projecting an arrival date to them on week 2-3 of May. Of course YMMV may vary depending on where you are, and it could still slow down -- but so far your experience has echoed mine with another week 13 build. I haven't been able to get my perma VIN from them but kind of expect it sometime next week based on what others in similar spots have shared.

Have you checked their website? that's how I figured out the Permanent VIN. Let's both hope we get our trucks a little early!

 

Thanks for that. Gave it a shot, but don't see it on there yet. In fact, they don't seem to have any lunar rocks on the site at all just now which is strange because it seemed like dealers had a wave of them over the last month or so.

 

My local dealership seems to get Lunar Rock more than any other color lol unless it's just black or white SR models which have been on the lot a little bit.

 

Is it cool to register the allocated VIN on the app before it arrives to the dealership? Want to make sure before I agree to all of the connected services stuff. Don't wanna mess anything up at this stage lol
