Didn't buy, but was thinking of throwing out a lower number. it was part of an estate sale. Can't remember all the specs, but it was a quality build.

    I run a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40. I think it’s perfect for a 10-22. JMO

Good for you, I started with a .22 around 10+ years ago so I could learn how to handle a gun, shoot, load, and clean it properly.
I can't believe how many "geeks and gooks" I run into that go out and buy a 9mm semi auto handgun that don't know how to load it, store and shoot, because they can't afford the ammo to become proficient. That type of gun owner and shooter is more dangerous to himself and others than any other thief with bad intent. I am now the proud owner of 3 long rifles, 2 revolvers and 1 semi auto handgun. Calibers .22lr, .223/.556, .38 Special

I have an inexpensive red dot on my AR that I can hit targets at 400+ yards. You don't need to spend a lot of $$$ to hit a target.

Another inexpensive scope that's popular with the folks on rimfire central is the Mueller APV 4.5-14x40. It's more magnification than I want on a plinking gun, but most of the folks on that forum are way more into .22s than I am.

And yes, unfortunately Nikon quit making rifle scopes for some reason.
