Don't recommend Progressive Insurance unless you've actually filled a claim with them. Ten year customer, no claims. Got rear ended by a semi doing 50mph stopped for a construction flagman. Progressive refused to honor my policy and my life was turned upside down several times. Don't trust ANY insurance company.

Geico was awful when I had them. We have Safeco now and they’ve been great on both auto and home claims.

That’s fckin nonsense. My Supercharged 01 Tacoma and my 96 Tacoma and my 02 4rnr are all fully insured with comprehensive and $1000 deductible and tow and roadside. Bundled with home I pay like $350 a month for all 3.

In defense of GEICO, I've used them since before I bought my Xtra Cab new in '03, and they've been absolutely perfect. Rates are terrific, and they're still covering my truck under their Mechanical Breakdown Insurance after 19 years and 244K miles. I'm insuring three vehicles- my 2003 Tacoma, a 2011 Accord, and a 2017 Forte- all with full coverage, collision, glass, etc., for under $1,300/year. They've never hassled me on anything, even on a glass claim when the windshield on a rental was shattered, and the MBI has paid for itself ten times over.

Yea, Geico does. And they already gave you the answer.

Time to move on. Find an Independant agent that reps at least 8-10 companies.

If you qualify, USAA has been good to me so far. And replaced aftermarket items that got damaged in a front end collision once I gave them a receipt without hassle.

I assume OP posted and ghosted but if he reads this, I would shop around for insurance. The supercharger is a carb compliant mod that the dealer offered. Do you have receipts for it?

I was with Progressive for 10+ years - no claims, no accidents. I was advised to check Allstate and they were quite a bit cheaper with the same coverage. Called Progressive to see if they could do me any better and they basically told me to kick rocks, so I went to Allstate. I have a local agent that is awesome, they have my house, vehicles and motorcycle now.

I've had geico on my stock 2020 sr5 since changing over from my tundra...they've been as low as anyone i've called for an estimate. I even got a discount from the premium cost on the tundra. I think they went up $20 in two years going on three. Maybe being in connecticut their good to have.

There has to be reason, doesn't sound right. Geico insures my boats, and 130 hp snowmobile without any drama. I did recently dropped them for the home insurance as for some reason they were crazy high this year. I'm 69 with a great driving record to, never having an accident. Many years ago getting speeding tickets was another story.

Because this is what this thread is devolving to... I used to pay $250+/mo with USAA for 3 cars. Now I pay $85-90 with Metromile, same coverage. No idea what they would do for my mods though (same with USAA).

When I asked USAA about insuring more, they referred me to a partner of theirs who insures classic cars for "agreed upon value". The caveat with them is <2k miles per year and no towing/hauling/etc. So that was the dealbreaker.

I have geico and they have been great.

I had $0 comprehensive deductible when I lived in Philly. Someone smashed my topper window and stole a toolbox and tools (about $200 worth). Geico couldn't get anyone to fix the window, so they gave me the cost of a new topper plus 10% (about $3300). I replaced the window with a piece of tinted polycarbonate for $50. I bought the topper for $250, even had that value of it on my geico profile. They still gave me the cost of the new topper.

I moved to TX and my truck got hit by 2" hail. My roof was fine but the hood got dented. The hood was already messed up from the clear coat peeling. Geico gave me $600. I still havent done anything with the hood.

    I'm paying about $800 a year for $0 comprehensive and $500 collision.
Call them about what discounts you can get. I have a discount because I have a masters degree... You never know until you ask.
