I skimmed through and didn't see it anywhere but may have missed it, may be different where you're at, but I got Denso Fk20HBR8 plugs at Autozone for 10.19 a piece. I know we all hate Autozone but I ordered online and just picked them up, no bs.

51,300 miles since new, eh why not spend a few minutes swapping out plugs since I got 'em.
Did the driver side first and rewarded myself with the passenger side last.

All three passenger side plugs were not as tight as the driver side, #5 & #3 have gasoline essence when I pulled the coil pack out and the coil packs were not discolored. Test drive did not feel any different.

    13 ft/lbs aka 156 inch/lbs keep a magnet on a stick handy.

Just finished mine holy cow what a pain in the butt!! It actually wouldn’t have been bad at all except that the lower bolt on that back bar was seized up! I eventually worked it loose with a lot of swearing. It probably wouldn’t have seized up had I changed them at 60k miles. I had it done once at the 60k mark now I’m at 160k miles on the truck so the plugs had 100,000 miles on them. Attached are some photos of 100k mile plugs. Truck seems to drive better with the new plugs and is getting better mpg.
Also I purchased this like other members have suggested.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014ZVSVK

I would say it’s an absolute must if you want to make a pain in the butt job a little less so. It worked amazing!

Just wanted to say 'thank you' to the original poster and the folks who followed up with additional tips/tricks. No way I would have attempted this job without the info provided in this thread. Truck is noticeably more responsive with new plugs, especially from a dead stop.

Hell yeah! Ducati.ms in the Sporttouring forum. I've had an ST4 since 2008 and put almost 100k on it.

    Nice!

I suppose the addendum to that post is that I now feel that TopTier fuels have caught up to Chevron and they all seem to work. Back in those days, I would not have run Costco fuel, but now and with their TopTier branding (cert?), that is all that we use. The price break and cash back helps also.

And, there is another connection in there. Saabs. I think I was tonered on saabnet when we had one. I miss that car, a bit, and that engine a lot.

Sweet. Just replaced my spark plugs a little late 78k :anonymous:

    Thanks for the write up!

A little oil on number 5. Probably valve cover gasket. I’ll monitor.

I have been shopping for plugs too and noticed the Auto Zone price. Here is the link.

ONE swivel joint!? I like seeing that! I've seen like minivans that someone did a writeup and they had like 3-4 swivels in use...good grief I'm not messing with that...but one, hell yeah. and by the look of your plugs my 90k+ needs it asap...

As a former auto tech and a current medical equipment tech I can say I hate engineers...why do they design crap this way? they KNOW the sparkplugs will need to be removed so they could have designed it so you could do that like NORMAL without taking so much out! I could r/r the tranny pan and filter in as long as they make this take now

THANKS for leading the way and making everyone's lives easier who goes to do this themselves...can't imagine what yota would charge XD "that'll be $1200 for just spark plugs........if you supply the plugs that is...1700 if you don't" j/k but not by much

Here is a Auto Zone tip to save some money. I just bought my 6 Denso plugs. When I signed up for the Auto Zone Rewards program, I received a $10 off $50 dollars coupon (good online or in-store). My 6 Denso plugs were $51.14 after the 10 dollars off.
