I want to get this kit but am just curious as to how this will handle towing a camper and if I should get the heavy load kit. The camper weighs about 4500lbs and I only tow it about once a month. Also when I eventually purchase either this or the heavy load kit are there any parts that don't come with the kit I will need like the bushings or UCAs and if you have the part numbers for those that would be awesome.

I have the OME leafs and they don’t even sweat towing my 2300lb boat.

Assuming the tongue weight is about 450lbs, I don’t see any problem provided you aren’t also hauling enough other payload to put you over the GVWR of 5600lbs.

If it turns out that the setup doesn’t work for you, you can buy an extra OME leaf.

If you want more information about the kit, I suggest you post a link to it so that people know exactly what kit you are asking questions about.

So you're asking about raising the front and the rear. What coilovers come in the front or are thinking about getting? Look at the spring rate, and see how stiff the springs are. They usually come with an average weight you can load these to for functional operation. I went a similar route, except I installed Stage III Deaver leafsprings and OME Sport Nitro shocks in the rear. In the front I have OME 886 coils and Sport Nitros as well. The things I'm looking out for right now is to make sure a wheel alignment on the stock UCA can be done, make sure I don't get boot rub in my inner and/or outer CV boots (although I am going to reboot my CVs eventually with high-angle silicon inner booties and neoprene outer booties), and any driveline vibrations from the lift. I have some minor driveline vibration but I think it's due to an old carrier bearing (stock '06, 215k mi), and not the lift itself because it's a near-level lift. My application is overland, weight on the roof rack like gear, water tube, tent, etc., and bumper and winch in the front.

In terms of UCA, find ones that address your lift height unless you get a kit that comes w/ them you can essentially go with whatever is in your price range. Bushings might be extra for your leafsprings - mine were. Front coilovers came w new hardware except the tophat, which I reused my stock one but you can purchase new ones too.

How much is the tongue weight for the trailer? I would get some sumo bumpstops for the rear as well. I am assuming that you have a trailer brake installed too.

i can’t imagine this being beneficial for what you are stating in your original post. It isn’t even the full leaf pack it’s just 2 leaf springs according to the link above? What coils does it come with? 886 or 888?

I believe the dakars are what would work better for you. EL095R I believe. I’m running EL111R and 887 coils with nitro chargers all around, with no weight in bed or up front. Considered the stock load on many sites

Correct. It also comes with the 888 springs. I still think he should consider the heavy load kit out back

Hey I am looking to swap out my 886 (too much lift and too stiff)

How much lift are you getting hub to fender?

thats why they are stiff l. Meant to have some added weight up there I think. I think I’m around 23 also up front.

Ok I am definitely buying 887 then. I will add some weight and would be satisfied at 22 to 22.5 in

    thanks.

Are you running nitrochargers? I like my 887 but am curious about 886, and Dobinsons also, as they work with the Nitrochargers. Guess I’ll see how things hold up over the next year or so

Yeah I am. I have the 90000. They are stiff but I would be uncomfortable with soft valving while offroading.

I think from performance perspective firm valving is always the best. I am trying to have a low spring rate with firm valving for most flex.

the 886 is really lifting my truck a lot but it seems necessary for those with bumpers.

makes sense. I love the softer for highway but once off it can be a bit bouncy. Im considering switching coils to get my front a tad higher (1/2 inch or so).

are you in Florida? My parents are in Sarasota and I’m there every other month

Yeah I am in Florida. If you wanna swapping springs I am down. I'd have to borrow some tools for autozone or something or pay a mechanic.

The issue is I am in Gainesville so gas costs are about $90 making it not financially viable. The springs can be had new online for $200
