I have used chainsaws a fair amount but never enjoyed them.

They fall in the same category as a tame lion, non-aggressive shark or any snake -- just waiting for an opportunity to kill you!

I do the same thing. It just looks incorrect to me to have a wire nut with no tape.

Friend of mine named Jim was cutting wood at the Mendenhall Plantation in Jamestown. Saw kicked back and hit him in the face. He lost several teeth and has some nasty scars.

2 rednecks are riding around looking for work when they pass the airport they see a sign saying now hiring. So they go to apply. They ask the first guy what he does. He says I'm a pilot. They say good we can always use a pilot. They ask the second guy , what do you do. He says I run a chainsaw. They say , well we really don't need someone to run a chainsaw. He's says what , you're going to hire my friend . They said well , he's a pilot. Guy says he can't pile it till I cut it.

I think anyone who ever used a chain saw will always have a few that could have been worse adventures.

Thinking I have had far more close calls with grinders then saws but Grinders I used every day for years .

Only ever did one year of tree work in my young Days mid seventies I am not sure if Chaps for tree work were even a thing back then

I can`t say I noticed any of the line crews ever wearing them

Kinda like having all the leathers for welding Hot as Hell in the Summer so stiff in the cold from not ever being used makes it so hard to move in those out of position places where they can be a big help.

Gotta be years since I cut fire wood much easier to trade welding and fabrication work for a winters supply

I name all my saws and write the name on them with sharpie. They all have the same first name, Deathsaw, and their last name is a number based on how dangerous it is to me.
For example, my jigsaw is Deathsaw 1000. My table saw is Deathsaw 9000. Chainsaw(s) have same name of Deathsaw 8000. My 12 inch compound miter is Deathsaw 5000. Circular saw is Deathsaw 6000.
I have a shop rule.... Anything with higher than 5000 cannot have alcohol involved.
Also, anything larger than a butane torch cannot be lit if alcohol is involved.
That includes even one beer. If I'm gonna drink, I don't build. I sit in the shop and relax lol. Too many close calls over the past 40 years of building stuff.

Sadie and I went to daddy daughter dance practice and added more to the dance we learned earlier in the week. I thought it was one dance for one song and we’d be done.

    Nope.

It’s 3 songs and a dance for each one :eek::eek:
