This is what happens when you trust your fabricator with your ideas and let me run free with my design. @08BajaBoy dropped his truck off for a crossbar to connect his Archive Garage shock towers. The crossbar had to sit a little higher to allow mounting of a Milwaukee storage box and while we were there we added tabs for a spare tire strap. Wrapped it up with bed bolt connections and a cross tube at the rear and I think it’s a pretty tidy package that still allows use of the bed (mostly).

Oh and I still do the occasional CMC. Cleaning up a previous chop for @Cambodianbreastmilk3187 that left a little meat on the bone.

Haven’t updated here in a while. Icon stage 7 install this weekend on @jojotoo ’s brand new T4R. The stage 7 kit includes billet upper and lower links and coils for the rear as well as a new track bar for the new geometry. Front end gets billet UCAs and CDC 2.5” shocks all around. A whole lot of icon boxes in the shop.

    Comparing old vs new:

    Finished front end:

Also did a BMC while I was in there.

Special thanks @GHOST SHIP for helping me with another project! Slight cut to line up with rear bumper and a piece to cover the unsightly plastic under the tail lights.

Right on man! That angle doesn’t do the fender cut justice. Let’s see a side shot!

How would you go about mixing an engine skid and trans skid if facing that
    in terms of compatability?

(JD engine skid, RCI trans skid)
Is it a matter of putting up the trans skid, seeing how it fits and if an inch needs to be cut off the engine skid, then cutting it?

What would be the best way/tool to straight cut thick metal like that?

There’s really a number of ways to get things to fit- the only real factor to consider is what interference there is and what you can do to the skids without compromising the integrity of them. I have a pelfrey ifs skid and a mobtown mid skid on my personal truck that I had to modify to get to work together. IIRC, I had to trim about 1/4” off one end and drill a few holes to bolt them together. Without seeing your specific setup in person, it’s hard to say what can be done.

Thanks Nick! Long time bud! Perhaps some day I’ll get my grubby hands on your truck too.
