Same with internet sites that take your money, then say oops it’s backordered….after you place the order and they have your money. Never had a prob getting the orders cancelled so far but yeah lame. There’s a particular bike parts website that has got me a couple times. I’ve learned lol CS rep told me if it says ships in 2-3 days, yeah we don’t have it and with all the shortages we probably can’t get it.

That's funny! When I sat on the Street T and test rode it, I felt like it was part of me. Would've gladly paid what they were asking... but they tried to add almost $1300 extra in fees 'n sh!t. When I asked for a breakdown of that, the owner of the biz said he had just put a $400 rear tire on it. While he droned on for a bit I just thought "There is plenty about bikes I don't know but I know my tires and now I know you're a liar". I WANTED to give them my money but they couldn't lower their fake fees...

I feel like opening a business (of any type, really) and just being honest and relatively pleasant would get you such good reviews and repeat customers that you couldn't help but make money...

The dealer by me I don't even bother with. Years ago there was one in my town and everyone that worked there was cool salesman parts guys. They all knew their ish. Service manager was a dick tho. They were in business for 28yrs closed down in 2008. It was a sad day for us locals.
I bought 2 bike from that dealer that closed

I miss the days of refusing to pay a single fee or asking price and it always worked out… haha

People are just stupid these days and have to have it so they pay the fees. I can finance the fees as well? Sold!

My brother asked me to come with him to look at a car years ago. He asked me what the doc. fees on the finance sheet are (right in front of the salesman) and I explained that they’re business expenses that they pass on to each an every customer. I explained it was like if I charged every photography customer for SD cards or welding customer for argon gas, even though that’s MY business expense, not theirs… and we don’t pay dealership business fees, ever. The salesman just said, I’ll have those fees taken off then.

The AT makes a nice tourer. I think @LocoLocal and I did 150 miles today, all back roads. I still had 100 miles left in my range when i got home. 1520 miles now

Didnt take any bike pics, but had a good time.

The Navi took one more baby step towards being mini-ADVAF

Had to put a drywall anchor of all things in on the parking brake to space it away from the perch to clear the guard. I'll probably try and 3d print something more sturdy eventually, or I've heard there's a lever for a different honda that could work, just haven't been able to find it yet. Bonus side of that is it's now in reach and can be used as a left hand rear brake, instead of being too long of a reach away. Rear skids for days.

The throttle cable comes off at a weird angle and location, so it's pushing the throttle side's guard down a little bit. I need to figure out what to do there, might just go to town with the dremel and a file or something. Yolo.

Not really under the tank filler, it's just a cover flap kinda thing. Theres room, but it’s not useable really. There's a surprising amount under the seat though. I was measuring one day to print a box with a lid for under there but realized the bottom of the seat pan actually has ridges and stuff to seal up that box area pretty good.

I work at a dealer in SoCal… depending on the make/model/trim and if the bike is new or used, our profit on bikes vary wildly.
Some lower priced entry level bikes we are legit buying them from manufacturers above their own MSRP. We gotta add on ADM to even make a buck — and then with gov taxes/fees/reg a “$6k” bike can easily become $10 out the door. Not much room to negotiate.
However other models with top tier trims of $20k+ bikes we will make 5x the profit of an entry level bike… however they are usually sought after and if you don’t pay full pop, someone else happily will tomorrow.

edit: hard to get bikes like Navi’s, other Hondas, and T700’s (almost any Yamaha around here) are gonna have a waitlist of deposits too and will be sold before they hit the parking lot

3d printed a piece to replace the drywall anchor I used last night. I'm happy with this as a longer-term solution until the PLA starts to fall apart  Navi officially has a left hand rear brake and keeps the parking brake feature.

Its an awesome feeling when you make something, and someone lets you know they like it.

not perfect, but i saved $120 and there are no others like it (with all the imperfections from close up )
