    Bugs?
I met a guy once at my buddies sportsman's club. He was introduced to me as Chews on Chainsaws. He had a scar running across his lips, because and I quote,"I wanted my braces off my teeth one night and so I just used my chainsaw." Yes, alcohol was involved.
    What are those?

    Hey, thanks!
I just sanded and refinished the seats with gloss spar urethane, then did satin for the final coat. The brace is aluminum rigid conduit I welded caps on the end of, then fabbed the uprights with a pipe notcher, and welded the top to some 1/4” x 8 x 10” flat stock I pulled out of the scrap bin. I purposely did not take pictures of the welds because I’m not much of a tig welder when it comes to steel, definitely not when it comes to aluminum!

Those aren't the push in kind. They have a set screw that tightens down on the wire. We use them on the big 25HP sorter motors without problems.

Gotcha. Working as I do, I don't get to know as many of the slang terms for things like I once did.

We call them burndys but split bolt is the correct term. Much like everyone calls it Romex when it’s actually NM-b cable. For smaller motors we usually just use wire nuts, bigger ones get split bolts, varnish cambric, 130 rubber, then super 33. Also varnish goes sticky side out if anyone was wondering.

We use those same style of connectors to splice in manholes. One I went to had 4 parallel runs of 500mcm copper in them.

Same way we use them too for the lighting out in the lots. Although there was an issue where water got in the one manhole and fried alot of wires. Nothing like a good ol' 480V wire melt...

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
This was more of what do I have to lose repair then just buying new?

How was the balance on your bolted together pulley at the normal rpm .

I wonder because of all the bolts changing the center of mass of the pulley.

Buying new means ordering and waiting. (and this was cheap)

The bolts are right where the spot welds were and are equally spaced -- it is on a mower deck not a motor bike so I don't think there is too much to worry about.

that’s funny you say that, I got called in a few months ago to an underground where they lost a phase in one of those manholes with the burndys in them. It had water in it up over the transformer, and one of the splices finally let go. There was steam coming out of the hole when we got there, water was probably 6’ deep in a 12x12 manhole. Just a little heat there!

I have a lot of stories involving hurting myself..... I have almost cut an a appendage off inside a PVC primer can, set myself on fire a couple of times, almost drowned in a pool cause I was wearing 3 layers of clothes and fell into a pool and could barely make it the side and get myself out. Water temp was around 40 degrees.
