Stock life for me. For now...
Thanks! If my front bumper wasn’t painted then I would of gone black.

Installed a low profile 14Watt solar panel to my roof rack. 20220501_120404.jpg

It's a stick on solar panel I attached to some kydex and bolted to the roof rack. You can see how thin it is.

i dig the low profile look. What rack is that? Im looking at various options now and one of the purposes of a roof rack for me will be to add solar.

It's a Prinsu double cab rack! I have plans in the future to add a water port and awning.

I had to replace mine after rock damage too lol- word of advice….Measure the gap at top of windshield to body before you have it replaced and be damn sure its the same after install. My first replacement was a hair bigger on the gap and it howled like a banshee when driving it. I mean awfully. This is what i’m referring too:

Prinsu definitely seems to be the most popular option on here. How’s your wind noise since installing the rack?

Very Nice. Got mine too, just waiting to get them sprayed with Line-X along with the fender flares and the front bumper cover

Unsolicited advice, I know, but I'd apply some masking tape above and below and fill the gap with either RTV or windshield glue. Should knock down the noise.

Prinsu is a great roof rack. Might I also suggest Uptop overland. Solid, many options, and absolutely no wind noise. Very happy with mine. Getting ready to install the rock lights as well.

Today I decided to try two mods. I installed the MillerCat converter shield in stainless steel. No problems.

second mod: the third brake light change. I purchased the Tacoma Lifestyle fancy one.

I tried over two hours trying to remove one…. Let me rephrase, over two hours just trying to get on the bolt to have a chance to remove the nuts. Tried 3” extension, no extension, swivel, no swivel. No go.
Frustrating. First mod I could not even start.

how difficult to remove the headliner??

Could headliner be cut, with sharp razor, to allow socket access? Asking those with experience since I haven't had my eyeballs up into this mod. Was thinking a very sharp cut would naturally 'heal', and even so, who is ever going to notice anyway?

By the way, my dealer told me yesterday my vehicle didn't need this recall, guess I got lucky.

Ordered these for the front doors and dash,
    https://www.cdtaudio.com/main_series/wideband/wb_systems/wideband4d.php

Going to try them with the Kicker Key 200.4 in BI-AMP mode and see how they sound. Might add the Focal RCX-165 or the CDT CL-6EX for the rear doors in 4 channel mode later. Still need to order some sound deadening, metra adapters, and mounts. Might need to fab something custom for the unity 8.0's in the dash. :notsure:

Also, placed an order for these items along with another 00948-chmsl trim ring gasket from Walmart. The third brake light is the same one sold at TacomaLifestyle and I just can't stand looking at the oem CHSML. Hoping this third brake light and gasket will fit better this time. :notsure:

i was going to do that, but i went to Toyota dealership and saw how far off mine was from a stock toyota, and filling it with goop to me was just not the right way to fix it. It just needed to be put in correctly. After i showed the glass guy the difference, they reinstalled it no questions asked. :)

Ah, that works too. Maybe they forgot to run tape at the top to hold the glass in position after they stuck it and it slid down a bit. Either way

not sure, i was at work when they installed it wrong- lesson learned to be there next time lol. Crappy for them though, as they wound up shattering the windshield thrying ti just reposition it, so it wound up costing them a windshield, and their repair guy had to spend a few hours cleaning up the glass out of my truck and garage
