Well, I went out today and tried to lift my 17 TRD OF LB with my Quickjack 5000. I love it for my Porsche but it does not work well with the Tacoma. The problem is that the blocks that come with it (you get two sets) are 2.25 inches high and 3 inches high. This is not high enough as the lifting platform hits the cross member before the block makes contact with the frame. The cross member is lower than the frame. Hope that makes sense. I tired to stack the two block sets together and this will work, but did not seem very stable and I would not recommend it. Looks like you will have to purchase the extra truck lifting kit that Quickjack sells. This will clearly work. With that negative review let me say I still love the Quickjack and recommend it to anyone with a sports car or is willing to spend the extra money for the truck lifting components. Hope this helps someone.

I ordered mine and received one rail, the other got shipped on a different truck for some unknown reason. The other rail should be here Monday. I did order the optional puck thingies as I think you'd need them for the Tacoma. My guess is you'd have to lift on the frame rails anyways, you would want the pucks so you were only contacting the truck frame on two spots. Can you pull the jack rails outboard a bit so you have more open accessible space down the middle of the vehicle that is lifted?

Really only use it on the cars and if I’m changing the Tacoma suspension (once). A good floor jack is essential. The only tool in the garage I use more is a 10mm wrench.

They make extensions for suvs and trucks but I wonder if I could just use a 4x4 piece of block wood cut to size would work too.

It's on my list to get one. 7000ext . To do truck, wife's Subaru and my 92 mustang. Did all the measurements. Will squeeze under the car and length is fine if I use it on the subframe connectors.

Or would 7000 be Overkill for the 2012 tacoma dcsb?

I like my quickjack. 7000 slx + extensions + truck adapter. I have a '16 OR and with stock suspension, and the truck gets 8.5" (front) / 5.5" (back) off the ground. I debated whether to go straight to the EXT model, but this configuration is more flexible when I want to use it on shorter wheelbase vehicles, and the extensions give me an extra inch of lift without having to stack the blocks.

When you say extensions, what are you referring to? The pieces to make the platform longer, or the pieces that sit on the platform for more lift?

Extensions lengthen the Quickjack to accommodate longer wheelbase vehicles, such as trucks. But it serves a double purpose in my case as the extensions sit on top of the existing jack and since it's a little over an inch thick, it also gives me more lift. The height makes a difference since once my lift goes in, the wheels will be closer to the floors.

Did you require the extensions for the Tacoma?

No, you can get by without the extensions.

Hi all, new to the forum. My garage is really small for 4 post car lift, how many inches does the quick jack move the car to the front/back between up and down?
That garage the floor is tilted some, when I let go of parking brake car would slide back slowly, not very slowly it's more than slow actually. Noticed a decent amount of difference in coolant level when I park it on leveled ground. Don't use quickjack in that garage or a little tilt in the ground is ok?

Welcome! I didnt measure mine, but I leave about a foot behind my truck. It sounds like your garage has more of an incline than most. I'd be hesitant to lift all fours on a lift on an incline like that. I'd reach out to the vendor and ask them if they have a solution for this (maybe some sort of a shim kit???).

Would the QuickJack get in the way when installing sliders?

I am getting ready to order a set of the 5000TL from Costco, I assume I would need the SUV adapter? I can’t figure out where the lifting points would be? Can you show pics of where the pads hit the frame?

5000 TLX here. I just used the stock blocks that came with the Quickjack. No adapter needed. Place on frame at regular jack points and you'll be fine.

If you have a lift you'll need the adapters, they are cheaper at Costco if you can get them there. Otherwise they are pricey.

I have a BendPak Scissor lift rated for 6k. More expensive than quick jacks but they go higher. This is my 09 Sport on the first lock. Good height for working on the breaks.
