I spray this shit on everything! I hit all exposed bolt threads and nuts come off after years of living in the salt belt.

TacomaLifestyle and I just can't stand looking at the oem CHSML. Hoping this third brake light and gasket will fit better this time. :notsure:

I just looked at this and thought “story of my life” always find something cheaper after MY purchase! Then I read the reviews, this one is screwed on from the outside. What a neat concept. I still would be in the same boat trying to remove the original nuts from the third brake though.

I ended up putting silicone around it and putting the trim piece around it. I had to buy the trim piece (00948-CHSML) from a dealer via Walmart since the dealers aren't allowed to sell it if you're not part of the recall/TSB.

The good part during the weekend was that I removed the last emblems on the truck, put in the Toyota logo overlay on the steering wheel and my turn signal led bulbs arrived.

the bad part was after removing the emblems, they still have imprints and the bulbs I bought aren’t resistor free

If all else fails, give this thing a shot. I didnt have much to remove on mine, but worked like a charm.

Dry fit the trim on the light first before installing. See if there is still a noticeable gap. Good luck, amigo! That is the same sequential mirror lights that I bought on Amazon and installed them couple years ago.

It's all about balance. A little bit of weight poorly balanced is a lot more dangerous than a whole lot of weight well balanced. I used to tow a lot of weight on a trailer with my hatchback (1,200lbs + 5x10 trailer is a lot of weight for a hatchback). The only time I ever had a problem was when I got the balance a little too far back (to reduce tongue weight but eyeballed it wrong). Pulled over, moved a couple 60lb blocks to the front and presto, pulls like a dream.

Pulled my jump starter out from behind the back seat and topped off the charge, you know, just in case. Made it a one beer job. :D
