Just watched a video of someone doing it. I guess my biggest concern would be scratching the crap out of my rims. Did you need to use big crowbars to get the old tire off?

Once the inner bead is broken, you can just wiggle the tire off of the wheel. If you have a tire shop break the rear bead on their machine, then it’ll be easy.

Edit: this may be misleading actually. I built a little stand to hold the wheel down so to get the old tire off I stood on the stand and pulled the tire off pretty easily. If the wheel is unsecured then it may be more difficult.

You may not even have an option. Finding a shop to touch them will be hard. Such is the life of beadlocks.

Yup. Seen then cover half a sidewalk when making a turn. Also, these drivers don’t care about speed entering or leaving a traffic circle. These things can lean like a champ.

    Welcome. :hattip:

It will be a different kind of wheeling out here than I'm sure you're used to in the desert.

Oh I bet. But I'm sure the camping and scenery is better. Haven't done the whole tree thing before.

Greatly appreciated! I'll be looking to get some fab work done on the tacoma in the future. If anyone had any recommendations for builders that would be great. Realllly want to get my SAS started. Gotta look cool rolling into Wegmans.

I'm in Tucson. I've done the drive once before when I drove up to Maryland. A three day trip in my old STI was brutal on the back.

    Thank you!

I'm also excited to try out Overland Expo this year as well. Anyone going?

Unfortunately that usually falls on our anniversary, so to increase the odds of making the next anniversary, I haven't gone. Yet.

I grew up out west and these caves are cool - Status of the Caves - Pinnacles National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
Not an off-road course, but interesting to explore on foot.

These are the two national park junkies I know of and I'm sure know of some good off-roading places too.
