That's the plan, it will go in the pile right next to the parking brake parts that will be coming off.

Does anyone have a CV axle suggestion? I have a feeling my new wheelie hobby may come with a few broken CV axles.

I have an idea of how an OEM outer will disintegrate on impact. If the CV is too strong, the front 3rd will take the hit. I look at this like a shear pin on a boat prop. Better to shear a pin than to grenade the lower unit.

NAPA if you're going with parts store or OEM if available.

I've seen an IFS 4runner on 37s with CJVs break both CVs before breaking the diff so I wouldn't really worry about it.

I see some recommendations for CVJs that say they are extended travel. Though they want the old OEM one as a core. I really only need the outer 1/2 shaft.

We are finding the GSP brand from Advance has the same repza ball design as the inner OEM. Not a tripod. The issue with non-OEM becomes how the outer splines fit the wheel flange. It would be good to find one with a lifetime warranty since I might pop one on an annual basis.

I love doing this kind of stuff.. Though I can tell it may become an expensive hobby.

It feels like there is an art to lifting the front and having a smooth and controlled landing like a mountain biker doing a flip or something.

Anyway, I'm getting hooked on this fast.

O'Reillys has an Important Direct brand with a "lifted vehicle or long travel option" that came with a lifetime warranty. I've had them on for about 10k miles including some wheeling at Sand Hollow and Three Peaks a few times without any explosions but I think i might go back to OEM if they ever give me problems

They look the same as what Napa sells but in a different box

I run their Import Direct brand on two of my FWD Nissans. They are lowered and normally chew up CV axles like a lifted vehicle. They hold up well for those vehicles. The Import Directs are made by a company named Wohn Industries and also marketed as TrackMotive. I actually tried to use them instead of OEM but for the unusual axle flange on a 100 series, the spline cut was just a bit too tight. One thing that I did learn that I like about those CV axles is the boots are made from a material named Dupont Hytrel. Hytrel boots have held up well on those vehicles.

It was OEM or nothing in my IFS days. Seemed the parts store ones all bound up and broke prematurely.

FWIW I only blew up one CV ever running a billion to one through the front and not being afraid to bump stuff.

I'm looking for at least 2 more parts trucks for the summer and the 2 cheapest I could find look like this and both are listed over 3K. The market is getting insane.
