The few times I’ve traveled, the flight and lodging were picked up by my employer when scheduled. Meals were on a per diem so if I wanted to exceed, I would need the receipts, if not, I just got the per diem.

Know what your company’s policies are. Using your own credit care shouldn’t be an issue unless it puts you in a hole or you incur interest/fees. Make sure you’re clear on what they will and will not cover.

Over the years I have done it both ways as an Employee . In the early years .

In my field emergency Jobs seem to happen weekends

It always worked out in the end.

One thing you really need to keep track of your expenses I have had some hit a month after you think they should when it is a few thousand it can really impact your cash flow.

When the jobs are finished and closed out getting more money can get real interesting .

In the later years as A crew leader I had Company Credit cards for these things .

Played around with it a little but, seems to do well. However, it takes a damn man to operate this thing! I'm not man enough to work this thing too long!

 

Thanks fellas. Not great today. Surgeon is finally back from a vacation. He flip flops on orders and I feel like they need to be looking for a cause not treating symptoms.
