If you’ve been waiting for @MESO puddle pods they’re supposed to restock today!

Also, I’ve got a few waxes up for grabs if anyone is interested to porch pick up them in Bel Air. I went to a ceramic so I. I longer need them. They give a great shine but I’m lazy and waxes are too much work
I think there is about 3/4 in each. Pm me and I’ll give you my address and can put them outside if/when you can stop by. Near C. Milton Wright High School.

No trimming on my 2000 & the wife's 02 4runners with the 199mm upgrade, direct bolt on. I had to trim the backing plates on my Tacoma because i did the much larger 231's on that truck. And with the larger 231 calibers on a 3rd gen runner its recommended to replace that short hard line that screws into the caliber with brake hoses. More fluid flow with the brake hoses. The Wheelers ss brake hose kit comes with the upgraded banjo bolts for more fluid flow.

No fog in the North Eastern corner of MD. Plenty of clouds tho. Looks like it’s trying to clear up a bit at the moment.

Anyone have experience installing a winch? I'm not going to be running a switch inside I'm going to invest in the wireless remote with the wired remote as a back up.

It’s pretty straight forward if you mean wiring it up. There’s a few color coded wires you may have to hook up to the solenoid, depending on the winch. Other than that, just a + and - you hook right to the battery.

Whenever the install is done, remember to spool the winch line up under load. I prefer to drag my wife’s car with the e brake partially engaged. Or hook yourself to a tree and pull yourself along with the e brake slightly on.

Thanks Brian, I didn't know that you also had a 3rd gen. I would use the 'WL' coded calipers and the bigger diameter discs/pads?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to the 231 style brakes. After losing 85% of the brakes coming down the side of a mountain in CO last summer, big brakes were on the top of the list even though I had just installed Zimmerman slotted rotors and good ceramic pads. They still weren't enough to handle CO. Then on Saturday I had a load of wood in the trailer and I got some bad brake fade coming down RT 30 to my house then one wheel started locking up and the ABS started it's stupidity, it made for a white knuckle emergency swerve into the shoulder. I'm done with that nonsense!

Can you tell me which parts you used for the 231 conversion? ( donor vehicle information for sourcing the right parts)

Get the calipers from Napa. Use a 2006 Toyota Tundra as your “vehicle” and make sure you check the size to get the correct calipers because they came with two sizes.

The reason you’ll want napa, is they come fully assembled, painted with high quality enamel paint, and they have a lifetime warranty. And yes, they will take your smaller calipers as cores without complaint.

I did the upgrade on my 2000, and it was the best money I have spent on the whole vehicle.

    0AEC377E-A958-40E8-A8B1-DAD4033E0E02.jpg

for Rotors i used rock auto, and went with Centric brand fully coated rotors, their ceramic pads and they come with pad hardware. Centric owns stoptech so their parts are top notch quality.
