First is take it to reputable dealer and get it documented that your frame has issues and needs to be sprayed. And just wait and see what they say.

The amount of rust looks normal if this were a New England truck. Just spray everything down with cosmoline to prevent the rust from getting worse.

You don't want the Toyota rubberized coating. That will rot the frame from within.

Damn and he said what we would do is basically go in with a steel wheel and get all the surface rust off and go back over it with a few coats of fresh heavy duty weather proof paint aka prob rust oleum from Walmart or lowes he said that’s how he had to do his jeep and it is what would work best instead of rubber of any kind . Thoughts on it ?

Or should we do the cosmoline and then repaint the undercarriage if they don’t

Looks like surface rust... Brush it with wire brush, then encapsulate the spots, then paint..

Don’t give him misinformation. That procedure doesn’t apply to the 2015.

Toyota won’t do a thing for you until there is a hole in the frame.

Man you north east guys have a low bar set for what rust looks like.

I would of ran away from a truck with that much rust showing VERY fast. If the rust is that bad there I cant imagine what the rest of the underside of the truck and in the boxed section looks likes.

Yes that would work. After the paint cures in ~48 hrs, spray the painted areas with cosmoline.
That rust is nothing. For comparison, here are two grade 8 yellow zinc plated bolts from my previous truck after a few winters

The front on the picture and other side are the only areas that have large amounts of rust the bed and back are fine really lol. Most the rust is all surface stuff around the welds and such except up front in said areas
