I have new wheels that aren't mounted yet but I decided to test fit them just to make sure they fit and don't rub the brake calipers. They fit fine except I noticed that I ran into trouble tightening the lug nuts. I had to lift the wheel up so the lugs were centered in the wheel holes and then tightened down the lug nuts. I'm assuming this means theyre lug centric.

Are there any problems mounting lug centric wheels properly on my truck? Do I need hub centric adapters or anything? I search around for answers but couldn't find anything directly answering my question. Thanks.

I'm no expert, but here's my take from what I've read. By the way, I'm looking at new wheels, tires and lift so asking the same questions.

Some people say to start w/o the hub centering rings and if you find that you are having vibration problems put a set on. I'm looking at a set of ProComp 7089's. I've heard the center cap fits tight on the hub so I probably don't need rings. I am also planning to use the Gorilla ET style lug nuts with the extended hub below the acorn. I did some rough measurements on a wheel similar to mine and compared to the specs on the Gorilla web site. It looks like the use of these lug should help center the wheel on the lugs and thus the hub.

Since I haven't done this yet I'm not sure how successful it will be but it seems to make sense. I look at it like a belt / suspenders approach. If you can center the wheel on the hub with rings or a tight center cap and back it up with the ET style lugs, the wheel can't go anywhere.

    My 2 cents.

    ^^^this

hub centering rings and the type of lug nuts spec'd for the wheel by the manufacturer. From the description it sounds like ET lug nuts like Mountaineer has said.

Those look like the ones. Just make sure they are the ET's and not the ET XL's (extra long). Several posts on here with bad experiences in not pulling the wheel up tight.

    Extended Thread.

I am running these lug nuts with my Procomp 7089 with no problems. Just dont use an impact wrench or the key could break

Sweet hopefully they'll work fine with just that. I dont really wanna need to get hub centric adapters.

I think you'll be fine with just the E/T lugs.
