    Nice! I'd get Starlink here just to send a big 'heck you' to Comcast but I don't think the service is reliable enough yet. Back in remote Alaska, however, that would have changed the way we lived our lives.

    Surprised to see Starlink is available, but currently at max capacity until 2023 or later. Even with a $99 deposit the monthly $110 cost is more than the $95 a month I pay for fiber internet with Cox.

    How long did y'all wait before you were signed up and they shipped you the equipment?

    Just getting started.
    For me the option to use Starlink opens up a wider portion of the country I can move my family to while maintaining the speeds I need for my work without breaking the bank.

    Interesting.............criteria. Neat test dough.

    I love how he says Ryobi.

    I have three (older) DeWalts of different design and length. I don't use them for a ton of harsh impact driving but they are fine - that said a couple of those quickie ones I NOW WANT. So thanks!

    does anybody have recommendations on pocket door kits?

    I'm going to be installing 2 (one to enter the bathroom and one to enter the water closet). Lowe's only had a 36" in stock, and I'd rather have a 30 or 32". These will be in 2x4 framed walls.

    Thank you! I spent way longer than I care to admit researching paint, and turns out Benjamin Moore was recommended pretty consistently. We've done the whole room with different BM paints. Risers are Scuff-X, window sills and trim are (will be) Advance, walls are Ben, and the fireplace is Regal. Everything has laid down so nicely, and where we've done color (sills and fireplace) it's very deep color. We've had to convince people that our fireplace is painted. It was originally a tarnished yellow.

    No trim or mantel yet (we're doing quarter round to frame the fireplace and a box mantel on top), but you get the gist. BM is really good stuff!

    Can't believe how uniform the walls are now. When we walked in they had gloss gray walls with roller marks all over the ceiling.

    FUCK POCKET DOORS!.

    Ok, now that my personal opinion of those are out of the way I'll try and be helpful. Solid or hollow core doors? Budget? If you want the absolute best pocket door hardware that you won't have to worry about for the life of it I'd recommend Cavity Sliders. Pricey but the old saying you get what you pay for goes a long way here.

    Haha my wife loves pocket doors, they do save space nicely. We will go solid for sound, because it’s for the bathroom.

    Well then, blast off. :poking::crapstorm:

    My grandparents had a pocket door in their upstairs master bath. I remember it came off the tracks and they had to hire out to get it fixed. What a pain. They do look neat though.

    Their a PIA to fix because of the way they trim out. If anything goes wrong you need to remove all the case. If your lucky just the rollers are fucked and that's all you have to do. If the track is the problem you've got to pull the whole frame including all the drywall or tile on both sides. It's why I always steer people towards Cavity Sliders. The whole frame is extruded aluminum and you cut it to fit any door. I hung a 48" solid core, 6 panel last year that has antiqued mirrors glued to the panels. It's heavy as fuck and slides perfectly. It's also soft close in both directions. They really do make quality shit but it's not cheap.
