At this moment in time he is only locked on stick. There is no other command. There is nothing but stick.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
The thing that's always ignored when we adopt our friends. I watched this and I think about Tessa. All she wants is the same thing, to be near me. At the very least where she can see me.

Today she is quite content in the garage (it's raining right now) while I get some stuff cleaned up and put away. And a good stick always helps.

    “Once in a lifetime Dog”

But not always for good reasons. I truly believe each dog you own fills a hole or void left by the loss of your previous dog. I lost my Lab Sierra tragically to a ruptured spleen that went undiagnosed. Sierra was the best swimmer I’ve ever seen. People would just stop and watch her jump off into the river. Would retrieve like no other. Lola replaced her. Absolutely gorgeous Lab I brought home two months later. Lola won’t retrieve a single ball or stick. First Lab I’ve ever had that won’t retrieve but damn did I find her at the right time when my heart was broke. Sierra died young. In two days Lola will be 16 years old. Best dog in her own way. I’m so glad she has been with me for 16 years. Cause Sierra went to soon. Both the best ever in their own special ways.

Wife and I met this pup. Gotta be 200lbs! He’s huge. But mellow as could be. His name is Diesel. Always wanted a big pup, but I think I’ll stick to the smaller ones. :D

I think this is absolutely true. A dog becomes "once in a lifetime" as you bond with them. Arguably it's when people start saying "where's Lola" instead of "where's David".

Riley had a cancerous mass on his spleen with internal bleeding. The vet said "as soon as he's having trouble posturing to poop, you'll know it's time". A couple of days later, it was time.
